Anyone have trouble with the little back panels on large boat sterns ....made outasome poly stuff. The letters won't stick.....do they need painting first...or preped with something special.????

Got real embarrassed last week.....OOOPPPS didn't know how to explain it to customer.

Thanks in advance with your help

A-lot of times boats get polished and waxed, and if you don,t degrease and clean real good vinyl won't stick.

Hiya Barb,
I'm assuming you're referring to King Starboard. If so, the instructions state...
"Because King StarBoard sheet products are designed to resist water and grime, they cannot be painted and the use of adhesives is not recommended."
In my book, it means nothing will stick to it.
You can read more at...
http://www.kingstarboard.com/
and the quote is from this pdf...
http://www.kingstarboard.com/CMS/Media/Docs/workingwith.pdf

I have a supplier that will router their ColorCore material, which makes a great (although basic) vandal resistant sign.

Havin' fun,

Checkers

Never saw that stuff before. But if that's what it is I'd proably recommend a signboard to screw over it.
