I just got one of the greatest gift. A pile of old Edward Eberhardt Idea Sheets. It consist of a bunch of sign layout printed ideas by one of the master sign painters from the 50's and 60's. Something like Broadside from Mac Macquarrie. No big deal for nowadays hi-tech digital sign "designer", but for a freakin' hand lettering maniac as me, Woouhooouuu!!!!!! Here's some...
Edited to add... LIFE IS SOOOOOO GOOD!!!

Pierre, the guy on the "Home Cookin" layout looks like you! That is some cool stuff you got there. It's timeless, looks just as good today. Love....Jill (The Truckers Welcome layout reminds me of a local sign where someone changed the T to an F)

Those are way cool. Ideas are Ideas weather its painting or PC.. You should make a PDF book of them I would certainly buy one.
I have a couple Speedball books 20s-40s that I made into PDFs..
Maybe we could get Steve to set up a Download area for them for Residents. Another bonus. I would Definitely be in for uploading the old out of print Books and Pamphlets I have. Within the constraints of the law though.

Pierre, click this to learn all about PDF files and you'll understand why everybody's hoping you'll scan whatever you can and make them available. If the PDF part seems like a lot of trouble, don't worry, be happy (like I need to tell YOU that...lol)and just do the scans because plenty of free help is available to get them put into a PDF file.
Meanwhile, congratulations on acquiring these treasures and please add me to the list of people interested in a copy. I'll call you tomorrow because I've also got a few questions about your hand lettering classes & we can talk faster than I can type.

The files are small and stay sharp when enlarged. Not only that, you can select parts of them to cut.

In good faith, the PDF suggestion was to save time.

I have a stack of old newspaper ad layout art. From the late 60's to about mid 70's. I hope to get the storage building sorted out one of these days, and maybe do something with them. They have alphabets, that's fonts to you puter nuts, as well as all kinds of art. Copyright free too if I recall. Let's keep this old time stuff alive and well. Don

Seriously Pierre, if you can send me copies (not your originals) of them I'll make PDFs of everything. It's a really simple, automated process.
Just give me your price to copy and mail them to me and I'll take it from there. I can't imagine there's still an active copyright on something that old.
And as I said, I'll set them up for FREE, just let me know. Something that cool shouldn't be sitting a drawer any longer!
