It's a trick. Spam mail. I don't think this one is damaging, but many are.
Never ever ever never ever never ever x 1,000,000 ever download a patch that a pop-up, email, IM or message says you need because it detects malware on your computer. You have not seen malware and pop-ups until you download one of these things...
I've reloaded quite a few operating systems because they ran one of these utilities from an email or a pop-up, and got their system so messed up it woulda taken a year to fix it.

You can count on popup messages like that to be bogus. The language in the message is really vague, and it refers you to a website to download a "patch". Anti-virus software doesn't work that way.
