Well, Frank... guess the millions of dollars they spent on that Super Bowl ad went down the drain..... . . . . . . That was a Doritos commercial.
The best part of any Super Bowl is the commercials. It's great they post them on the web the day after so some of us don't have to bother watching the game just to see the ads

To begin with, as a disclaimer, I'm a lifelong Eagles fan.
But I don't quite get the "arrogant Patriots" thing. Why is success automatically seen as arrogance? The Pats are successful as a franchise because they stress teamwork, focus and never taking an opponent for granted.
This was a good game, no doubt, and I'm not upset with the outcome. But for those who really watched the game, the outcome hinged on that near-miraculous escape, pass, and reception at the end. One play, that could have been a sack and ended the drive.
If there was any evidence of what might be thought of as arrogance, it was Belichek's decision to go for it on 4th and 11 instead of attempting a field goal. They didn't get anything out of that, and lost a shot at the 3 points that made the difference.
Here's to the Giants, and Eli. He stepped up, and he earned it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this SuperBowl! I was rooting for NY - more out of ignorance than knowledge because I don't watch football normally.
But I had heard some stuff about the Pats "spygate" controversy....plus, they've won a few now...so I was going for the underdog.
I thought the game was a great one though! Right down to the wire and you have to give Manning credit for never giving up hope even when it seemed that all chances were fading away with the few seconds left and each incomplete pass.
I was very happy for the NY win.....

O.K. with the football part...no Packers don't bother watching!
Anyway, didn't anyone seem to notice how, let's say it niceley, TOM PETTY SUCKED????? Until the last tune? Was he stoned or tired or have a stroke right before he went on?
If you have ever seen him live at a regular show, he is much more alive and animated than last nite. Very disappointing show...no wardrobe malfunctions or phallic innuendos...
Didn't find out who won till I went to the deli today.
Going to go online and watch commercials! (Always the best part anyway!)

It was a great game, which included one of the most improbable plays I've ever seen on that last NY drive. I thought Eli's missing a wide open Plaxico on a scramble late in the game might come back to bite him but he got the chance for a reprieve and took advantage of it. I'm also glad there weren't any ticky-tacky penalties affecting the outcome.

Nikki, come on, The Pet Dog has paid his dues, face it, he IS old, if hes still rockin' who cares, at least it wasn't Janet Jackson and some boy band crap...If the Packers would have made it to the Super Bowl I think they should have had Ervin Suess and the Hoolirie Dutchman for halftime...lots of Ben Gay, Geritol,They are old and they still get money for playing, just like the Rolling Stones, only not as loud!
Petty was fine, he ROCKED!
Flock of Seagulls, now THAT is a HALFTIME SHOW!

Ok Ok, but didn't he seem SSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWWW? I've been a fan since way before I could walk and it just seemed sad.
My sister in law had tickets from TP himself. She's got connections....didn't talk to her yet. She lives in Scottsdale so had a short drive to the game. I'm sure she didn't notice though...probably too many martinis in the skybox...
FLOCK???? I RAN AWAY FROM THAT ONE!!!!!

Low-scoring, but exciting game. I thought the American Idol girl did a great job on the national anthem but Petty was less than inspiring. One of the defensive linemen for the Patriots was asked if he had any Tom Petty songs on his I-pod and he had no idea who he was - he said "Isn't he that race car driver?".....

We've had a debate on local morning radio lately about the TP performance. I guess the overall feeling here (since no one really cared about the game anyway ) was that something seemed "off" about him-until he hit "Runnin Down a Dream" then they all seemed to wake up.
The stage was sparse & I always wonder how they get everything out on the field in 6 minutes or whatever the commercial break is and set up and sound checked & all, but they seemed like they were out in the middle of nowhere.
I must admit, though, halftime shows usually suck, so it wasn't a big deal. I was just hoping that one of my favorite performers didn't "have a bad nite."
Can't stand all the new crap on the radio, so it was a welcome change from a barely seen boob, lypsynched, techno freakshow they usually have.
Last good halftime show was Aerosmith with Mary J Blige. That one totally rocked and those dudes aren't young either!
I guess I wasted half a nite to see the show and was disappointed. I folded laundry the second half!
