I have a new system up and running and I am missing something somewhere to see saved files.

Example: When I open explorer to see PLT. Files in my jobs folders, I used to be able to thumbnail and see them. Now I only see the folders, and the ones that are showing pics are just my JPGs.

Anyone know what to set to view them?

Thanks!

Sam,

I have never been able to preview plt files in explorer.

Early Gerber had an additional program called Gafman, that was real close to explorer, but did preview the files.

In the newer version the gerber open box looks similar to explorer and has a preview pane in it.

Don, my old system setting next to me is running xp and I have an external hard drive on it.

When I need to look at a previous year job I just open it and in explorer or if I know the job name I search them and they show previews for all.

There has got to be something that needs to be checked or added to do this.

When I find out I will be sure to pass it on.

Sam, I would really appreciate it, because there are too many times that I would like to check files just using explorer.

Hey Sam,

It may just be this simple... or not....

On the menu bar for the folder is an icon for views. Under that is an option for thumbnails. Use that. Yours may be set to details which lists the details of the file with no preview.

Spent time on the phone with Bob Gilliland and he sent through files to get me up and running.

What a great guy! The time he gave me was well appreciated.

Don he is going to give you a call.

Man seeing all the files again are really great!

Joe, it was not a computer issue but a Gerber issue, somewhere, somehow I was missing some Dll files for plt thumbnail and I was also missing my sys tray which he also fixed.

Bob did call, but it turned out that Joe had the answer for me. I had never tried thumbnail view for plt files. I guess cuase I just didn't think it would work.

I'm still glad I got to talk to Bob again, even if he wasn't able to save the day this time.
