Jon;
What Joe said is true about my bringing one of "Pin Up Pinstriping" ladies to Atlantic City, however, the pictured example is one of 24 different shapes I created, and offer on vectorized disc. The one pictured was printed on vinyl from an original on our UV flatbed printer.
The vinyl was then applied to pvc and the striping around the picture was then hand painted to compliment the gal.

Thanks for the photos Joe.

It was a fun time..especially seeing old friends again.

That "Chapman" carving was not done by me - it was a gift to me from Joe, and it looks even better in person. Thanks for the nice surprise, Joe. It will have a place of honor on my wall.

It's always interesting to feel the difference between strolling the show floor and listening to the sales pitches from all the "suits" and then to step into the rare air of the Bullpen. It's a totally different atmosphere and attitude. I'm much more at home with those who have a brush in the their hand than those who try to sell me on the latest printer.

Finally, I got to sit in on one of Dan Antonelli's classes and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sadly, we didn't get to have dinner together - he probably thought he was going to have to pay. Wonder where he got that idea?

It was good to spend some time with an old friend, Charlie Duane, whom I haven't seen in a very long time.

Thanks also to Bob and Kathy Gilliland who became my "taxi" for the weekend. Times with them are always very important. Even got to help celebrate their wedding anniversary Friday evening.

The older I get the more important friends become. It was good to share old stories and to make some new ones. The Bullpen is a very special place. If you haven't been there, make an effort to be in AC next year.

One of the things I cherish about the USSC Sign World show over all other shows I attend is the bullpen (have yet to attend a CONSAC show, but understand that show now has something similar). Nothing like seeing the veterans of the industry along side the pups; all while having the latest technology displayed only a few feet away. Truly something to behold while attending. I brought my brushes along and thought about getting them wet, however, time and priorities didn’t match the desire.

Always interesting to see “Joe Chisel-ski”! I feel confident that in one meals time Joe can have not only the US problems solved, but most of the worlds as well. Or is it that Joe feels confident; I get confused sometimes! Keep them chisels sharp Joe.

Time spent with Raymond is always a treat. Been real fortunate to have spent a noticeable amount of time with him this year and it was sad to say good bye Friday evening knowing that will be the last for the year. Good news; next year is just over a month away!

Guilt by association; I was introduced to Charlie Duane via Raymond and was able to have various discussions with him over the few days of the show. Charlie used to be involved with Signs of the Times magazine a few years back. Now he has something in common with Grandpa Dan and Duncan; walking. Small difference though; Charlie knows where he is and where he is going. Look for a book from him soon that tells the story of walking the Appalachian Trail and other “walks” he has taken in the past decade or so.

Between the Bullpen and the show floor (not to mention a restaurant and casino encounters), it is always great to catch up with friends and associates within the industry. Letterhead meets are different then trade shows, and shows different then meets, however USSC combines them both and that is value added by my measuring stick.

Thanks for taking and posting pictures Joe.

Ray and Bob-

My apologies on missing out on dinner. A lot of stress over the weekend -

The two classes are killer - I don't think I'll be doing that again.

Anyway, Ray, that thing we spoke of I think is finally taken care of.

Spent the day at the hospital today with wife who we thought was in preterm labor. Again, another reminder of the need to keep things in perspective as to what's truly important. Was like deja vu all over again, as you may recall my twins were born premature. Thankfully Doc's say she's ok.

I think I'll relax more when when shes 36 weeks pregnant. ONly 11 weeks to go for that.

No problem Dan. I could read the stress in your face. That's not a very good place to be, but I'm glad to hear that things are working out better now.

Good luck with the new arrival. I remember how we all prayed for your family with the arrival of the twins.

Truly an educational and inspiring experience! I'm kicking myself in the butt for not being there all three days, but the one day that I did make it, was better than a years worth of practice on my own! Thanks to everyone especially Howie, Zeke, and Sal for all the guidance!
