Russ! Honestly, that was one of the best news stories I've ever seen. Thank you for providing that link!
I can relate to this guy - on a less skilled level - but the mindsets and frustrations of a perfectionist are very well explained and I understand where this guy is coming from.

I just tried to view this. The initial shot is there but it jumps right in to a commercial. Is this a conspiracy because I'm pc (not politically correct)and not a mac?

the friggin commercial is the crap they add on to make money from someone's work.
Otherwise its a great video. Passion and commitment makes all the difference.

OK I was patient and viewed this.I am blown away at how productive this fellow is. You would think that merely selecting and gathering stone would be a full time job. Very prolific for such a young man...Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks Russ, That was well worth the time. Trouble is I love rocks and stone and now my head is full of ideas. How am I gonna ignore them all and get my work done? I once made a lamp that had a base that was a cabin made of stone. Unfortunately it fell apart. Definitely inspiring.

amazing work!! I'm sure all of us who come here to talk write or think about work, "after work" can relate to this guy.
That moment when a completed piece can be gazed upon, with all the tools, ladders, dust or debris cleared away is a moment I've always chersihed particularly on large carpentry or masonry home inprovement projects I've done.
To finally see the evidence of so much physical effort & mental obsession with the details, finally completed to one's own exacting standards, while the sweat, exhaustion, muscle fatigue, and pure exhilaration of the process is still fresh in mind and body.
Those are moments only the artist can experience at that depth, no matter how deeply appreciated the work may be by others. I hope when my time comes, looking back on my own life will be somewhat like that.
