We letter the limosines for a company that rents them out for high end events, weddings. etc. They have what they call their Party Bus, a whole fleet of cars and today they showed up with a Hummer limo! The span on the side between the doors is 175" and they want us to letter the rear end like the rest of the fleet but they also want to be able to park it around town with advertising on the sides. Their idea was a banner on both sides. They want it something that is not permanently on the vehicle. They want it to look classy at events, their words, but something that would be easily slapped on the side when they park it. We talked about the banner idea but I'm afraid it might slap around in the wind and damage the car. We discussed mag sheet but we are talking a HUGE mag sheet on each side and besides the fact that would be difficult to apply, roll up, re-apply, I think that it would look cheap. This is a VERY high end vehicle, inside and out!
I suggested a banner that they could put up on site next to the vehicle, but then they might run into zoning issues and the time to assemble and take down each time.... Any suggestions?

You can use matgs. cut them into manageable sizes,, but make them classy. Make look like a banner.

Them plain ol' mags with white and square corners are saved for the cheapo dude.

woohoo I get to flex my brain muscle and completely over-engineer a possible solution! [Smile]

How about a banner that is supported by a stand that attaches underneath the vehicle?

Say the banner has a pocket at each end to slip over a PVC post, and the post has a 90 degree elbow at the bottom with an extension that slips into mounting tubes which are affixed to the chassis in non-conspicuous locations.

You'd have a banner that rolls up for easy storage in the trunk, a stand that can hold the banner out away from the vehicle thus no body damage, the stand doesn't touch the ground so no zoning or permitting issues, and with just a single post at each end it's not only fast to set up, the posts break down into a compact size to store in the trunk along with the banner.

I like Mike's idea, but I would like it better with 1" aluminum square tubing. Put a piece of 1 1/4" undr the car and fasten them just like a trailer hitch.

Instead of attaching something to the hummer…you can fabricate some stands (flat stock with tubing welded to it) that go under the vehicle tires (lay them in font of each tire then pull forward) with tubing held in place by quick pins…put up a banner with bungee cords.
