Hello all, it my first time trying to do acrylic letters with trimcap and i am having a hard time sticking the trimcap to the letters. What is the best adhesive to use and what is the cure time. I friend of mine told me to use weld-on 4. I tried that but it seems to be really messy and it is too watery therefore it does not stay put and ends up either on the front of the face creating something like orangepeel or it eats up the trimcap pretty bad. Any of you that do this type of letters on a regular basis i would really appreciate your help. Can i use silicone, and if so what brand do you recommend.

Weld On is the right (and only) adhesive to use. Once you learn to do it right its a breeze. You need to use the right bottle for the product that has a needle to allow you to pour out the glue in small amounts and the trick is to get both sides wet and stick it together immediately and hold for a few minutes - that really depends on which Weld on your using since they cure at different times. The chemicals actually melt both sides and then cure together when you hold them together.
I usually lay the acrylic on a piece of scrap plywood and pop nails in around the whole perimeter to hold the cap on as you go around.
