It seems the Postal Service has finally gotten involved.

Story Here.

I wonder what took them so long.

Oh yeah. Its the "Postal Service".

And all you need is a 5 cent stamp on an e-mail to solve the problem !!!

With the few e-mails required to run a business, the cost would be negligeable and on top it would be co. expense.

The people sending those cr*ppy e-mails by the hundred of thousands wouldn't be able to keep this sh*t going. The cost to you would be nothing compared to the saved agravation of getting e-mails for fake watches, pills, bank scams and whatever Abdul trying to get money of his country...

Mind you, if you're dumb enough to send Abdul a check, maybe you deserve to be f*cked out of your money !!!

Imagine that there would be no postal stamps for regular mail, you'd get a pallet of paper delivered to your doorstep every morning, and talk about the forests now... same principle has to apply to e-mails !

My 2 cents...

I would much rather deal with spam and scams on my own than pay some government agency a fee to "protect" my email. I pay the post office for a stamp each time I send a letter, and it hasn't kept them from stuffing my mailbox with crap. And, the price keeps going up. Email would be no different.

My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone.

If USPS or anybody else is picking off spammers, that's good. I didn't see anything in the article about USPS charging us any more money for this. If they want to do that, screw 'em. I have always reported spam by available means, and I seldom get any thru the past several years. So that must work.

As for the scams, well, anyone who believes an absolute stranger will give him money for nothing is a hopeless fool. Jeez, there was a network TV show half a century ago that everyone knew was fantasy. "This is Silverstone, estate of the late, fabulously-wealthy John Baresford Tipton..."

easy way to stop spam...create lots of email addresses. Like one for business, one for friends, one for personal purchases, one for business purchases etc. etc.
That way they only spam your purchase email and it really doesn't matter much.

Dawud, that's exactly the way I handle my email. Spam and purchases at hotmail, acquaintances on yahoo and gmail is for those who know me well but when a friend needs me, my cell is always answered [Smile]
