Well, I'm impressed also. But haven't considered using Rhino with an airbrush.
Would you be so kind as to explain the thinning process and type of brush required. It must me a touch-up brush. Right?

Thanks all. I find the latex airbrushes just fine once mixed. The tip clogs rearly when mixed down as well other than white. I fine it clogs fast so it must be the pigment used in it.I thin the paint with a product called "Liquitex Low Viscosity Acrylic Airbrush Medium" www.liquitex.com, I believe you can find it at an art supply place, I get mine from Colours an art supply store here. I mix not quite 50% and add a drop of water. I use to just mix the Liquitex or Floetrol and it worked but clogged the tip up quickly so had to clean it off more often and for whatever reason the drop or two of water fixed that. I use my Iwata HP C Plus, it has a very fine needle but works really well. I'd suggest playing around with your mix by adding more or less of the Liquitex or Floetrol (as they don't break down the adhesion properties of your paint) till you get the viscosity to your liking and away you go...Cleanup is easy a little warm water and soap and or fantastic. Good luck and have fun with it Joe.

Great looking projects Pat! They look 3D. I especially like the radiator one... border goes real well with the radiator. Great design!

Dana we originally had talked to the client about doing a 3-D sign but thier budget didn't allow for it so all of the above we painted on alumiply and airbrushed to give the look of 3-D. We first sealed the plywood edges with West Systems Epoxy(2 or 3 coats as needed). As soon as the epoxy doesn't stick to your finger we apply the next coat and on the last coat when it reaches this tack stage we apply a coat of primer (can be latex or oil and in this case its latex.)The reason to apply the subsequent coats and paint in this tack stage is, if left to dry a plush(hard smooth surface)is formed and this needs to be sanded before paint can be applied so by catching it in the tack stage we elemenate the sanding. We then buff the face with a 180 grit foam pad clean and paint. In the above all was painted with latex paints with the base coats and fades being sprayed on with my HVLP spray gun, and here we use floetrol with a wee wee bit of water to get the vicosity to a nice even finish...Thanks again for all you nice comments.
