I have a client who wants a sign on Scooter Board. I thought I knew all the slang terms. Is that PVC/Trovicil? [I Don t Know] [Confused]

Now, before you flame me, remember the only stupid question is the unasked one.

We just a sample of this from our supplier. Neat stuff. If it lives up to it's claims at about 1/4 the cost of dibond it could be a good thing.

Wensco sells it Rick. I played around with a sample, sticking it
in a bucket of water for a few days and it seemed to handle it well. I was looking for another alternative for real estate signs but there isn't a good ink for the dang stuff. Needs to be catalyzed and than of course, dumped. I dropped it with that information.

Rick,

I've been using it for about a year and a half.

I has been holding up great in SC.

I've got two signs on the table right now, one is 1/4" thick the other is 1/2".

Love the stuff!

Rick,

I have also been using this product for over a year, and it is better than the masonite products we used in the past.

H.P. vinyl sticks beautifully. If you are going to silk screen it just make sure you get the correct screen ink for the surface. {Ask me how I know??} [Bash] The manufacturer will supply all the details as to what paints will work best.

It holds up VERY well to the outdoors, and can be used as a substitute for many of the substrates we are currently using.

Regards,
Bob C.

Does anyone know if scooter board can be painted? I don't screenprint and the company i use to screenprint would price me out of the bid range. I see scooterboard only comes in white but my customers signs have a blue background with white lettering.

I've painted it with good results.

I scuff, round over the edges, prime & paint.

I did 20 signs like this for a neighborhood that requires a specific "For Sale" sign. They are holding up very well.

My 2¢

I just used some for an interior menu sign; scuffed it, wiped it down with Wil-Bond, and coated it and hand-lettered with OS. Don't know if I'd trust it for long-term outdoor applications, but I used it for this interior job with a lot of cut-out panel shapes, and liked it a lot. It cuts beautifully. One thing I noticed was a static charge that attracted dust much like PVC - do we have any info as to what it is coated with?
