ain't worth the breath.

Company here in town has bought building and wants their logo on all 4 sides on top.

I price this is:
metal letters
pvc-painted
and actually paint letters on

customer said price is too high. He says other company gave me a price for all 4 sides that you gave me on one on my least expensive method. I replied, " thats impossible".

Turns out they quoted him styrofoam. I let him know 1-2 years from now he would regret that. I said if you don't use me, PLEASE dont use styrofoam. I have not heard from him. i doubt I will. But still these letters are 2' x 20' and 4 sides? This styrofoam crap must be like dirt cheap and they still have to prime and paint and install.

Will someone tell me when styrofoam came back into signage. I thought we left that crap behind in the late 80s. Nonetheless Im glad to hear Im still too high and there are cheaper out there

Maybe he is just trying to beat you down on the price. I'd tell him that he should get some sort of gaurantee on the job. Just my 2 pennies, have a great week-end!

I worked for a sign co. in the late 80's that did alot of styrofoam letters - I thought at the time it was a cheap, temporary method for making signs, but just about every install that we did is still up, and has survived almost 20 years of weather, sun and birds. Most of them have outlived the customers. [I Don t Know]

Of course a few people thought that even the styrofoam signs were way to expensive for them.

from Alabama, to North Carolina, all the way to Ohio, and back south to Arkansas, there is just no shortage of cut throat shops. I have been contemplating packing up and heading out of town. I think I will only find the same caliber of shops, just different owners.

When someone figures out a way to sell high quality signs, ALL THE TIME, please let me know.

off my soap box again........
