We made one of these last year, for the main aerosol manufacturer here, they came back and wanted one for Sunscreen so we made this its styrofoam coated with Styrospray hardcoat which is like Volatile Free, and painted with Standox 2 component car paint, which gives a really good finish.

How much stryo spray did that take. I'm considering buying one of their duel cartridge units.
It looks as though you clear coated it all.

I'm really looking forward to coming to Canada! and meeting all of you! I've never been outside of Europe before although I've driven semi's in most european countries, so it should be great.
This was a fun thing but nothing compared to what Dan does, and although the finished thing looks OK we learnt alot along the way,we have done other projects with matt finishes. This was supposed to look like the real thing, styrospray is not so easy to work with especially on round shapes the "open" time is short. We looked at the cartridge system but thought that it was a more expensive way to dispense the same product, and I saw the mess around Dan's areoplane!! we have use Styrospray a few years, and I have sprayed it through a hopper gun too, but we use 2 gallon kits and mix a few cup fulls 50/50 at a time, and work that in then make more, its cleaner , you get it where you want it.
We had thought about using epoxy, like magic smooth, and I had a pallet of it here but decided to use what we were familiar with.
Joe it wasn't as much as you might think, it gives a very hard surface which you then key before painting, we used a spray filler to get a better surface, and then painted with a Standox catalyst 2 component paint, so now clearcoat it dries like that, we have basecoat here too which you'd have to clear afterwards, but this was paint we added thinner and hardener too.
How's BC in October? A bit like our climate or is it warmer?
