If I design something in Sign Lab5 how can I email a client the file? I know they don't have SignLab nor do they have Corel Draw. I know they have Adobe Acrobat 6. Or do you think I would have to print the design, then scan it from Adobe Photoshop and save it as a PDF file? Anybody do stuff like this?

I think I did it, I ended up scanning the drawing and saving it as a PDF for email. Si I didn't think about the Jpeg because I was worried about it looking all pixelated, I could be wrong. But hey if anyone else knows a faster, slicker way, please let me know.

We have the full version of Acrobat and that allows you to print to a pdf file - the advantage of that over exporting or saving as a pdf from Illustrator is that the files are very small - although not editable.

You need to convert to a PSV file, download 54 meg then transfere to a gigabite whilst exporting illegal pixelations things through windows P7632 on a Tuesday.
You know I haven't got a clue Cisco ! Realy I just wanted to thank you for the Dixie DVDs you so kindly sent for our meet. We gave the one away as a door prize, as suggested and laughed our way through the other. I've been trying to find your e-mail but I don't think you have such a thing, so then I took to knocking at red doors but nobody over here's heard of you !
I can't guarantee paragraph one will solve your problem, but why not try it.
Bye Amigo, Dave K

Hola Francisco, I use the "print screen" button on keyboard. I just zoom in on layout, hit print screen and then paste in e-mail body. It will of course print your SignLab desktop as well, but most who need a peek it is good enough. Of course tell them to disregard color pallettes etc. and to just like at design within. Hey it only takes seconds and you don't have to mess with conversions etc. I will send you one.

Cisco, if you've got Photoshop, try exporting your Signlab art as an Illustrator .ai file. Open it in Photoshop at the resolution you want and save as a PDF or Jpeg from there. That will give you the cleanest image. I'd suggest 150 ppi on an 8 1/2" x 11" page, or smaller. It will let you make it any size or resolution you want. I used to use Signlab and it stinks for emailing art.

Hey everyone, THANKS! I ended up scanning it in Photoshop and saving it as a PDF to get it on it's way.
Rick, got your email, pretty cool, I'll try that.
Brent, I do have Photoshop and next time will try that too.
Dave Kynaston... (You need to convert to a PSV file, download 54 meg then transfere to a gigabite whilst exporting illegal pixelations things through windows P7632 on a Tuesday) you are crazier than 3 red doors in the middle of an Atlanta,GA back yard. but I am glad to hear you enjoyed the Dixie DVD. Wish I could have made it over there, but that's the way it goes sometimes. My email is heycisco@sbcglobal.net but looks like you guys had a Blast at your place. Give your Dad my regards and that he's a "Cool Dude" I'm sure we'll meet again one day.

Here is another way Cisco. We bought a progaram called deskPDF for about $30. Type that into Google and you will find their website. deskPDF will take any kind of file and make a PDF out of it. I know it works with SignLab 5 because I do it every day. Basically you are printing your SignLab design to a PDF file format. No more printing and scaning to get a PDF. You can even append or prepend the PDF with stuff from other progams...like Word and Excel. I know there are other inexpensive PDF build progams that should do the same.
One small problem with deskPDF and SignLab5. It wants to put a blank page in the PDF file after every SignLab orginiated page. It is not a big enough problem to me to take the time to make it stop doing that.
I have also built some "template" files in SignLab that let me build a quote above and below my SignLab design. My contact info, customer name, location, copyright info, quoted price (even multiple quotes), customer signoff area all end up in the SignLab file. My client gets an email with a one page PDF attached (well 2 if you count the blank one). Everything he needs to know to place an order with us except where to find his cheque book.
Also I can print the PDF out, keep it in the quote file for followup or use it as the paper work order to make the sign from.
deskPDF has been a big help to us when the client wants to do things via email.
