It has been raining here for two months nearly every day (and everyday for the last 21 days) [Frown]

It's been a long haul with work in the shop that can't go up and not many phone calls looking for new work...

But on the brighter side I won $80. bucks in the state lottery this morning.

So not all is lost. [Smile]

Looking forward to a dry July... I've talked to people that have lived their whole lives here (some who are 80 years old) and they tell me it has never rained this much as long as they can remember) we broke the 70 year standing record.

Most say it certainly has never rained into July before (we'll see) [Frown]

Oh and did I mention I won $80. bucks in the state lottery this morning.

hoohah...and life goes on. [Smile]

I also heard on the news last nite they got 19 inches of rain in Austin Texas in 7 hours nite before last...so you see not all is bad...it didn't happen here! Sorry Austin [Frown]

BUt I got $80. bucks [Smile]

We in Washington state know how you feel, 9 months of it every year. As years go buy you learn to take that $80 and stock up on REALLY good windshield wipers!

I remember a guy at the Waco, TX meet wearing a T-shirt that said "You are 7 times more likely to be hit by lightning than win the Texas lottery" LOL. Sure wish WE had some rain! Here's a little something to cheer you up Monte.

We have had very little rain in the past six weeks. The grass crunches when you walk on it and all the body shops are slower than they have ever been.

Monte - hey, I feel for you. We're going through the same thing here. At least, it's a good excuse to give our clients when they call about their sign not being installed.

We have a shop full of signs and can't dig a hole anywhere without sinking the pickup.

Last year at this time we were in a drought.

This week I talked to Joe Crumley, there in Norman, and Mark Yearwood in Weatherford and both were telling the same story.

At least it is cooler.

We need your rain. We have new fires pop up everyday. Supposedly we are going to have a "Tropical Wave" go across the next few days. I'll believe it when I see it. These weather people can't forcast their way out of a paper bag!!!

Hang in there Monte. Congrats on the $80.

Bushie^ here in Duncan's shop on the road to Moose Jaw.

Rain? What's that? 6 years of drought back home. Actually got 1" week before we left for Canada. Went straight into the ground ... no run off down the driveway!!!! Local dams are down to 18% and we are on level 5 water restrictions ... NO water use outside of the house!

Fortunately I have a 5000 gallon rain tank and a big roof area to keep it full so I can wash brushes and rollers, and the inner courtyard plants alive.

So, Monte swap you some sunshine for the liquid stuff. 50/50 would be nice eh? [Smile]

$80? Sounds like you gotta buy the beers!

Rain and kids home from school do NOT make for a great recipe long term. If anyone has some spare sunshine, I'm willing to deal!

Jon, I got a question and I'm sure there's a good answer.

How do you have water in your rain tank if it barely rains for 6 years?

We need your rain too... there is only one road from the town I work in where the airport is, & the areas where all the biggest resorts are. We get fires every year or so that shut down that road, like we did yesterday & last night. I'm not sure if it's open yet, but probably not...

..anyway, planeloads of a fresh batch of tourists camped in a high school gym because they couldn't get to their hotels... & others checked out & then couldn't get to their planes to leave.... so they are camped out on the other side of the fire.

Monte, now you can buy 80 barrels and package up that rain and sell it!!!!!!!!!!
yes, I am crazy, but they also thought certain artists and inventors were too.
How about a pipeline project painted by letterheads and stripers, just like the railroads? Every one could ship water back and forth to accommodate other states!
now wouldn't life be sweet then?
