Me, I love snow even though I got to travel upwards in the winter to find it. It would be much more satisfying if it just came down when I live, hey James Kim hadn't a problem finding it near my home this past winter.
I do but does anyone else work on Sunday? Sunday is actually the first day of the week according to all calendars

I don't! Why should I? got the bb for all the news that matters and doesn't matter. However, the cell phones got a bit wet from water balloons at a grad party cookout for my niece's sister-in-law!
When's the last time you've been to a water-balloon party?

No, but the kids seem to like it sometimes...different cultures & attitudes, I guess.
Over here in the 70s & early 80s The Goodies (with Graeme Garden, Tim Brooke taylor & Bill Odie), and The Young Ones (with Rik Mayall & others) were two favourite TV shows- British humour- did you ever see them, and on the ginger vs maryanne idea, which did you like the most, The Goodies or The Young Ones?

national brand tires aren't always the best for every application so I get what works best for whatever it is I drive. I have 4 or 5 vehicles and the tires range from yokohama to kelly and I'd buy them all over again if the quality remains the same.
Whats the difference between a goodyear tire and a box of used condoms?

New projects and new skills always get me up in the morning. Fresh ideas are never in short supply... only the time to do them all.
When was the last time you jumped in over your head on a project and then pulled it off to your absolute delight??

Question: What is the highest level of math you've learned - and do you still use it?

Two years at university studying engineering got me well into calculus & most other branches of higher maths, to a greater extent than we did at school, and with greater purpose, but since then I enjoy learning new high-speed mental maths approaches, like learning to figure out 247 x 247 in your head, quickly, or 46 x 87, or the square root of 45678 etc. I'm not that quick at all, but the learning & practicing is fun. We play memory games with the kids on long car journeys too.
Question- do you do your own auto/mechanical repairs?

Repairs No - Maintenance Yes. When I was just learning to drive my Dad made sure I learned how to change a tire, check the oil and water.... I've been a grease-monkey's assistant all my life, so I can at least hand 'em the right tools.
What exactly is calendered vinyl?

It's stuff that falls off in 30 days (one calendar month) if the customer doesn't pay!
It's actually made by squashing vinyl flatter & flatter & flatter, calendaring it. It will have some desire to reshrink back, depending on the standard. Cast vinyl is poured into a puddle, and there it stays, very stable. That's a crude explanation, anyhow.
What aspect of signage would you like to learn to do well, which you currently do not do?

I have done only a few, (20-25) hand painted signs. Those were some of my best work tho. Seems that we are still educating our clients of the value and worth of a good hand made product. You'd think that wouldn't be an issue in Amish country.

I have an 11-year-old son, Joshua, and a 9-year-old daughter, Kelsey. They are my greatest source of joy on this earth. My boy is an accomplished guitarist and is playing baseball and tennis, and my daughter is a free spirit, happy and playful all the time. She has a strong work ethic and plays piano. Both kids want to work in the sign biz, but they're still very yound and at the stage where dad can do no wrong. I'll give them a few more years and see how they feel about it then. Kids are great, I wish I had 10 more.

I've still got my overhead projector. It was my first purchase when I went out on my own in '86. And was the subject of my favorite cartoon by my Alaska based sign buddy.
Edited to answer the question: unfortunately, no the last time I used it was for a large mural in 2001. But it is still patiently waiting!
Did you start as an apprentice with one of the old timers or just hang out yer shingle and jump into the sign business?

I started out in reverse...hung a shingle and an old-timer saw it and took me under his wing. Thank God! I'd still be painting horrendous signs if not for Bill Berberich.
What type of brush oil (if any) do you prefer?
