That's great news about Nancie and Miles. You are both super salt-of-the-earth type folk. I'm excited!
There is probably nothing better for human bonding than working side by side with folks in the trades who enjoy the camaraderie and want to give of themselves to the various causes and charities on our planet. Whether it be striping for charity or enhancing the environment of a community that could use a shot in the arm.
Coming from a small community and enjoying going to other small communities and learning about their histories and bonding with the locals, the benefits of our generosity are far reaching. We have become ambassadors of a noble craft and have given the public a glimpse of how special we are.
Not all walldog events have all the bells and whistles that we would like ... perks like free lodging and entertainment ... money for project leaders ... insurance, etc., but the heartfelt sincere gratitude presented by the towns that receive our gifts is always a reward that you can carry through til your dying days. If you're looking for a spot in heaven such as I am then why not give of yourself, see a part of the world you would never see otherwise and share in this unique experience.
As a veteran of the 1st Woodstock and FarmAid, I've got to tell you, somewhere, sometime somebody's going to make a jaw dropping professional documentary of one of these events and those of us who have joined in will be revered as we should be.
If you haven't seen one of the Great Lakes before, I can't think of a better time than now. Shoot ... they might as well be oceans, that's how big they are. The sunrises and sunsets on these huge bodies of water are just like an ocean. Wisconsin is one of our vacationland destinations for the U.S. Midwest. It ought to be drop dead gorgeous in June. Hope you can be there, those who can!

Oh Good!... It'll be a blast paintin' with an Irishman! Glad to hear you'll be comin', Miles! And Carole, I also have a 13 year old boy and my daughter is 16. I'm sure our kids will find something in common... Jessie (my daughter) has kept in touch with some of the kids she met in Lodi, and one of them has told her that he's gonna be in Algoma too. Thanks for the compliment, Bill... I do hope I can add a little flavor to the meet. I can hardly wait to be slinging paint with everybody!

Miles, Green Bay has an Airport, they will probably set you down in either Minneapolis or Milwaukee, then a short flight to Green Bay and we can get you from there to Algoma! They are really wild about their American Football here Miles, the Green Bay Packers are the local team, ("Packers" means that they are famous for gettting fired and getting divorced in Green Bay, hence the name.."get Packin'!" Ya got yur Bags "Packed" ...Similar to an Irish saying for getting fired.."Sacked" rhymes with "Packed") you get the idea.
Bill, don't take the "Brown Acid" as Wavy Gravy told you...The Lake is really special in Algoma, yur gonna like it!
Wow man....like ..wow.dude.

It's going to be a blast.
I really need the break from work.
I can't jump over to the other meet as I head back on the 26th but maybe another time.

Hola Bernie...nah amigo, I don't think I will be at this meet. but man it sure looks like it's going to be a great one! I love being at the Walldog meets, so much you can learn, the people you get to meet, and the sweet part is when you meet up with your old pals. And when you get people like Mike Meyer, Andy and Lorrie, The Diaz gang, Dave Petri, Carole Bersin, Adam and Sarah May, plus the rest who are arriving...that town is in for an Extravagana!!
Have fun man, and watch out for the crabs I hear there are bigger ones over there.

I am DYING!...knowing I can't get there, Bill.
You have to remember, that you're my hero. So I profusely apologize for this first indiscretion in several years in regards for the walldogs.
I personally Love each and every one of you, and have been constantly amazed at how good some of you are !
It's all a matter of inspiration, to attend one of these meets.(and a little perspiration)...so not being there is very troubling to me.
All i can say, is the next time there is a meet, I will be there, even if I have to push my own wheelchair.
Life has me covered up down here in paradise.
It has been so dry for so long, that I wouldn't go anywhere these days, without worrying about whether or not the whole world was going to go up in flames...you know, things burning down.
I think it is often prophetic, for sign-oriented-people, to look back on their own creations.
Is it any accident, that so many people are doing so many flames, these days?
I think we are all doing what we need to do...that is to be inspired. Nobody I know, ever inspires themselves... they need the association of other people to accomplish that.
At least I do...
I guess....
If anyone on the fence about this meet, just go check it out, and I don't think you will be disappointed !

IF there is such a thing as Moral Support, by wanting to be there, but not being able to attend, for whatever reasons, then I would say that the folks who actually GET to ATTEND this meet, should think about the ones who can't, while you're painting.
Because we love ya' all, and we are there in spirit.
I know all that has been said before, but I felt obliged to repeat it.

I would like nothing more than to be there...I just can't really see how I can make it to what looks like a premier Walldog Event. There is nothing that I can think of that equals the fun and good times that go along with a Walldog event.
It really kills me as others have mentioned above...hopefully, ya'll can think of me while you sling some paint....I'll be with ya in spirit.
If you are close enough to make it to this event and can pull it off, I would strongly recommend heading to Algoma.

The Durhams are going to be at the meet. They be extreme cool folk.
Belly up -- let's get after it. Picture evenings on the beach with the sunset at our backs over the vast beautiful waters of Lake Michigan. Billy boy might even have to spin a yarn or 2. Imagine that!
Where'd I put my beer?

Hey Chris... We're coming up through your neck of the woods. My mom lives in Lexington and we're stopping at her place to sleep (and visit) both coming and going. My lil sister's inlaws live in Winchester. It's gonna be fun meeting y'all in Algoma. Bill's not kidding about a seriously good time considering who'll be there (and what we're getting to do) I can hardly wait!

Hey Nancy! What days are you coming through? We are leaving the 18th or 19th to spend a day with our family in NW Indiana and Chicago. Definately stop by my shop! 16 Court Street - right next to the court house when you are in Winchester. If we have already left you can check out some of my signs - Winchester Opera House, Stitch in Time Quilt Shop, Bailey's Cafe, the signs for my shop, and the Craft Nook are a few. See you either before or at the meet.

And, by the way....I hope all you guys and gals have NOTIFIED Dave and the town you are coming by now! It is really hard to plan these things when you don't know numbers. (Ask anyone who has hosted a meet! ) If you haven't done this yet, go to the "Future Live Meets" to the left, print out the registration form and CALL the town contacts or Dave. It really will help out!

Paula, looking forward to meeting you. Bring your brushes (fitches I think are prefered by most), comfortable work clothes, lawn chairs, sun screen, a sense of humor, camera and probably a hat. Can anyone think of anything else? I don't know the count...Dave is major busy though, so I doubt he will see this. If he does, he can tell us.
