We are going to Kalamazoo, instead. Big dog show. Big. I mean big. Really big. Really, really big. The Premier and the Invitational for the UKC.
Did I mention this dog show is big?

We're going, Mike. We are project leaders on a wall. We just wanted to see if there were many other fun-loving souls who were ready to get up there and PAINT! From the brochures that Dave sent us, it is a BEAUTIFUL location! Oh MY! ...google Algoma, WI! Right on Lake Michigan and a great little resort town. We got our tunes ready and the brushes oiled...Anyone else? (We will miss you and Dana, Bruce. Hope you win a ribbon!)

We went up there last October to help answer questions at a planning meeting. This is gonna be a great meet. Been looking forward to it for months now.
Lots of talent. Just look at the project leaders we have comming.
Andy and Lori Goretski Bernie Geitl Bill and Jane Diaz David and Susie Butler Mike Meyer Cam Bortz Michael Clark and I think Nancy Bennett will be there too.
I cannot wait to get up there and start slingin some Paint.
I talked to peach yesterday and his head count is still low. If you are going now is the time to get ahold of Dave and register for this event.
Lots of other stuff planned but I do not want to ruin the suprise for the other atendees.
Viva La Walldogs!

Kat and me will be there. Let's see, we turn left at the house on the rock? Oh well, we'll just do a map quest. Anyway, looking forward to a good time and good work.

I will be driving out from Connecticut... why? Because I have found, through repeated experience,(I'm a slow learner ) that I can't carry anything close to what I need for a Walldog meet through an airport. Plus I hate flying, being folded up and stuffed into a narrow little seat with John Candy's twin brother in the row in front of me, crushing my kneecaps for four hours So, I'm loading the truck and heading West, most likely out across Upstate NY, Erie, Cleveland and Chicago. In Chitown I'm meeting up with Alex "Philly" Falk before turning right and heading up the lake to "'Sconnie".
Just four weeks to go! Can't wait!

Cam, if you weren't meeting somebody in Chicago, I would get to Ludington, Mi and take the ferry across Lake Michigan and then head north or come down from the Michigan U.P. Come hell or high water I would avoid the traffic and congestion of Gary and Hammond, In which might just be the worse in the country. Whenever I've been on 80 in Chicagoland's southeast burbs I've been close to having to wear a straight jacket ... well at least in need of some serious medication. Good luck ... I can relate to the flying experience. We'll work on getting relaxed once you get there.

If ever there was a town that would be an excellent vacation spot for the family, this is it! You can work on the walls while the rest of the "troups" can do goofy golf, water sports, shop, etc. There is a winery, antique shops, boutiques, and and art gallery, according to their town web site....I'm telling you, this one is not to be missed!!!

Come on Bill, yur gonna scare people, I've driven thru Chi-town at all times of the day and it ain't no big deal....The Ludington ferry only goes real early and 5-6 PM..5 years ago it was $180 dollars for me, my gal and my son in a 92 astro....it takes 4 hours. It's probably alot more money now. I figgered it was faster and cheaper to drive around....more to see going south. Give em Hell Cam!

You're most assuredly correct on the subject, Mike. $180 ... that's pretty scary, besides I don't picture Cam being afraid of much. I'm just trying to mess with him. Being from the East he might find the drive similar to a stroll in the park.
I, however, am scared of just about everything, even Jane and my weiner dog, and they're good natured just about all the time. It's age and sheer oneryness that has caused advanced senility to come over me. Wait a minute, I think I hear my walker calling me.

Hey Mike nice photos. Especially the ones of Ayleen. Those gym walls bring back fond memories. Remember to fly like the eagles.
I better show up in Algoma, since I'm scheduled to be a project leader. Everyone should pack their bags and make it to this walldog event. It will be a great time. Memories will be made and friendships will be renewed.
See you all there!

It's not a miracle Nancie, you know the great things that come from any type of Letterhead gathering, and you just being smart by taking part!
Seeing a different part of America, 5-6 states away is alwys a great adventure!! Good for you, and I look forward to seeing you in ALGOMA!!
It's gonna be another meet that you'll see featured in A Magazine About Letterheads..You don't wanna open thos pages and say, man, I wish I would have made this meet....
well, it's not too late....about 3 and a half weeks away...a friend told this way of funding Letterhead trips a while back...goes like this....
Figure out about how much you are gonna need to get to the meet, Plane fare/gas whatever, lodging, food. Now look down your work load list and match it up with the job that would cover those expenses....there ya go, trip paid for! Here's the great part about it...it's written off for your records as if you were going to some think tank convention/classes all day/seminar after seminar kind of thang..But it's ain't like that at all sunshine..no sir, it's like a family reunion, senior high kegger, rock concert, sheep shearing, sun tanning, favorite funny movie all rolled into one!!!!!!
It's almost illegal it's so damn fun!
When you know you got the ching to make it there and back, it just makes you feel that much better....after it's over, you know it's gonna make you say..."When's the next one?"
Mt. Pulaski Illinois 2008...come to Algoma and we'll fill you in while you are filling in! get it?!
Nancie are you driving? Can I throw some money yur way if you bring my Ornage and Blue trailer back up here from Suwanee???
Serious!

I'll be there. I just gotta take care of a couple things first.... like buying a new used car that will get me there. And finding a place for my kids to stay or convincing them it will be the best time ever if they come along. What could be better than being completely ignored by Mom for 4 days.
And I promise by then I will have more info on the Minneapolis meet which at this point appears to be postponed until 2008. We were just a little too excited.

Hey mike, how come you painted the letters in the yellow first then painted around them in black, which to me means you have painted them twice?
why not just paint the whole panel in yellow, mark out your letters and then paint the black?
I don't think I'll be walldogging with you all this year but those panels sure do make it look tempting.

Miles Miles Miles, please put the Guiness down for at least one minute...Here's how and WHY I did it like I did....I projected the art on the wall with Sharpie markers....then painted in the yellow on the letters..not to be real carfeful on the lines, just mash it on there, then, I came back and cut in the black. When you paint out the panel you have to wait for it to dry.
This wall was done in 6 hours. Start to finish. I did not paint them twice. You see Miles, I am part Irish, but my German side over rules to just get it done mechanically correct. The Iriash side is for charmin' the female janitors.
Now get your Irish self over here to Algoma and may the road rise to meet you and the sun at your back...always after me lucky charms....

Hey Corole... How old are your kids? Mine are 13 & 16 and they'll be there. Algoma's website makes it look like a nice place to visit...and I'm sure there will be stuff they like to do. Our "wallPuppies" usually have a good time at these events.

Hey Nancie...... I have a 13 year old boy and a 15 year old girl. I did bring my daughter and her friend to Mazeppa in 2005 and they may have had too much fun but I'm pretty sure I'm going to give it another go. It's good to know they'll be some others their age. Looking forward to meeting you and yours.

Damn! I wanna be there, ... he says wiping the droole of his keyboard!
I will be in BC Canada that weekend, due to drive to Dawgie's in Edmonton on the 26th June on my way to Moose Jaw.
Just trying to figure a quick zig-zag and flights across North America to make your meet too. Probably have to leave it until I get to Chilliwack in a couple of weeks. If I can make it ... I will.
If not ... enjoy yourselves.
Just a thought ... if you OD on walls what sorta stomach pump do they use?

Well Miles if you are going to make that far a trip, take a couple of extra weeks and hit the Moose Jaw meet on the way home. Drag that Meyer character across the border with ya. We have some pretty sweet stuff happening here too.

Hey Jon, I'd love to talk and paint and just plain have us one of those Letterhead good times!!! Miles is a great person, I enjoyed his company in Jacksonville last year, and I'd recommend him to anyone wanting to have an International Painter on the project staff!!!
I've got a full plate at the moment with my son Caleb's graduation, his going into the Army, and Algoma..oh and yes, I am also running a business.
I ain't gonna be here forever, I 'm gonna make the most of it, like John Jordan did.!!!
