I am looking for a supplier that I can buy t-shirts from for doing short run shirts mainly for myself as something to mess around with.

Also what kind of heat press works best for this?

Thanks

There are several suppliers-- Staton, Alpha, SanMar ... you would have to set up an account with any of them.
Staton -800-888-8888, Alpha 800-523-4585, can't remember any others off the top of my head.

Just about any of the heat presses will work-- I use a couple of HIX that have worked very well for me. One of them I bought used in 1985.

I prefer Staton... but they don't like small quantities. They will ship you just one or two but they have handling charges that will make it expensive.

For short runs I use:

We purchase from TSC Apparel (www.tscapparel.com)Like Michael stated, you would have to set up an account with them. By odering on the internet you can purchase small amounts but still get case prices.

Good luck.

Hi Jake,

NES Clothing is right here in MA. www.nesclothing.com

You will need to open an account though. No big deal.

Hey, Jake. I did sub contract work for a guy that has one, and he uses a Knight (nice machine, but very pricey).

I needed a couple of shirts last week, and I called him to see if he could do it, and I supplied the tee shirts and artwork all ready to go. He couldn't seem to find the time after about 4 days, so I decided to go ahead and start doing it myself.

I got this press off e-bay.

As far as shirts go, I have always seen him go through Alpha Shirts.

In fact the current Sign Craft has an article on doing heat press shirts.

We've got a Hix press- an antique, but solid & good- they just last & last.
There are many ebay chinese ones- don't know if the value, or resale value is in them...

Might want to look into BlankShirts.com

This would appear to be a retail store for SanMar, as the warehouses are in the same locations. Not quite wholesale prices but pretty good.
