In the market for a new plotter. Looking at the Graphtec fc7000 42". I don't want anything smaller. Is this the model to go with? I was also considering the Graphtec CE5000 120. It's about a grand cheaper. Thanks!

We have a Graphtec FC5100 and it is very dependable. I have used two of this same model of machine now and have had no equipment failures with it. I can't speak for the 7000, or any other manufacturers, but we are very pleased with our Graphtec.

I have 2 Summas. One that is over 13 years old and still works like they day I bought it..
But I do have to say we just bought a 54" Graphtec as a package with our Mutoh, So we'll see. I have never heard anything bad bout them so I am not too worried. (If it ever shows up but thats another post.)

I have the Mimaki CG130-FX It is a 54" Cutter (a good 50")and it has a "half cut" capability. That means you can print a decal and it will cut around it, and the backer sheet, so you can just punch out the decal. It is like perforating but the pieces stay put until you gently separate them. Any shape, it is like kiss-cutting.
It also uses smaller widths, even the Gerber punched stuff I still have.
Unbelievable!
