OK, something to lighten things up a little bit. We've done top ten favorite movies a bunch of times. How about the ones that aren't necessarily in your top ten but ones that you watch a lot, like evry time they are on:) Luckily, Denise and I have the same taste in movies.

Grounghog Day......this one has to be our most watched movie. We will watch it EVERY time it's on. It looses nothing with repeated watchings and actually gets funnier. It's gotten to the point of a Rocky Horror Picture Show with us, we know most of the words [Smile] We could dress up as the characters but I don't think I could handle the part where Phil gets slapped all those times.

Under the Tuscan Sun........if this one doesn't make you feel good, there's no hope for you.

Lovesong for Bobby Long....a hidden gem with John Travolta and Scarlett Johansson. Bittersweet at the end, you'll cry, but the character development is outstanding. Another one we watch every time it's on. Quicly becoming one of my all time favs.

Ever After......an really neat adaptation of the Cinderella story with Drrew Barrymore, a guarantee feelgood movie.

Twelve Angy Men....still riviting after at least a hundred viewings.

Cool Hand Luke........shaking it up here Boss, another one with a bittersweet ending.

OK,OK so I don't like action movies [Smile]

The Goonies, Scrooged, Chicago, and The Hunt for Red October. How's that for diversity? Throw in Gettysburg, and the General, with Buster Keaton.

Overboard - "Here's your chocolate cream pie..."

Mr. Mom - "220...240... whatever it takes"

It's a Wonderful Life - " I'll lasso you the moon..."

Happy Gilmore - "Doin' the bull dance, feelin' the flow, feelin' it... feelin' it."

Caddyshack - "Cinderella story... out of nowhere... IT'S IN THE HOLE!"

There are others but those are the ones I seem to watch a lot when given a chance.

Here are ones i'll always try to watch if they are on:

Nobody's Fool - Paul Newman, Jessica Tandy and Bruce Willis.

Lovesong for Bobby Long - John Travolta, you are right George, that is a movie that did not get the recognition it should have.

Great Escape, Magnificent 7 and Pappilion' - I'm a big Steve McQueen fan.

Tin Cup - Kevin Costner, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson

The Unforgiven - Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman

Scarecrow - Gene Hackman, Al Pacino

Scarface - Al Pacino

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

any old live comedy movies: Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Chris Rock, etc.

I beg to differ Donna - "The Notebook" is in my top 3 all time favorite movies and I generally don't go for chick flicks. (A good friend of mine, Steve Rhea, did the location work in the Charleston lowcountry and is featured on one of the extra vignettes if you get the DVD) The ending reduces the Kleenex supply considerably, but the story and cinematography are worth it.

Another good one I just saw tonight at the Atlanta Film Festival is called "Darius Goes West", a very moving documentary about a group of UGA students who take a kid with Muscular Dystrophy across America. It's currently doing the festival circuit and has already garnered some big praise. Here's the web site:

Donna, I almost edited to add The Notebook.
Awesome movie!

I also liked Fried Green Tomatoes, forgot about that one.

I also liked Flash Dance, Fame and Dirty Dancing.
Anything with dancing. [Smile]

Another good movie, On Golden Pond.

Anyone remember Stir Crazy, and Silverstreak? I used to love Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor movies.

Chapter Two, and The GoodBye Girl were good too. (Neil Simon movies)

The Usual Suspects
The Shootist (John Wayne's last)
Blackboard Jungle (oldie)
To Sir with Love (also an oldie)

Soooo, many good flix.

As far as favorite movie, mine is one that all the critics and most everyone else hated. Eddie and the Cruisers with Tom Berenger and Ellen Barkin. Just a great story of a guy that couldn't deal with corporate execs opinions of his creativity.

Lot of great memories here. But I forgot to add my favorite foreign flicks. The Seven Samauri as well as most of Akira Kurosawa"s work, and
Danny Deckchair! [Rolling On The Floor] [Rolling On The Floor] [Rolling On The Floor]

Four Weddings and a Funeral
The Quiet Man
Beetlejuice
The Mothman Prophecies
Kingpin
The Silence of the Lambs
(and most of the others previously mentioned, especially the Tracey's list but not so much any futuristic or fantasy stuff)
RHPS is best live! Getting hard to find it out there tho, last fall we went and saw it in a theater that was being renovated and had NO heat. I pitied the poor kid who dressed as Brad in whitey tighties.
Love....Jill
