I'm doing a quick job for my local Pepsi distributer for the backlit tops of store pop displays. Super, I just happen to have some acrylic upstairs yet. Well, the mask is dried out pretty badly. Even though I cut the 3, 9x48's out of two sheets. Some pulls off cleanly and some is just shredding. I've tried saturating it with Rapid Tac as is does release normal premask. I've tried the pressure washer which takes the paper off but leaves the glue behind. I've tried my Vinyl Zapper which just pulls some of the paper and smears the adhesive around.
Is there any solvent or other tricks that work on this stuff?

Thanks guys. I was thinking about just dragging them home behind the truck but the belt sander may work too. Si, you'd thing I'd actually have mineral spirits wouldn't you. Being a screen shop I have about 15 assorted thinners and solvents but the mineral spirit can is dry. Dennis, I try the brake fluid, couldn't hurt. Kevin, this stuff sounds interesting enough to get some in house for the next time this happens. Right now out of three pieces there is only two sides that are giving me trouble, bad trouble.
but.. . . I have a reducer for NazDar's coro ink which I've used for vinyl adhesive removal with good results and it seems to be working on this stuff. The paper splits off on the first try and than a lil scrapy will get the rest once it's saturated again. Stuff smells like crap but it seems to be working.

Being it's Acrylic, I'd be careful of which solvents. Mineral spirits should be fine, but kick it up a notch ( Sorry Emeril ) by cutting it with Xylene. The Xylene shouldn't harm the plastic, but will help get the glue off pronto.

I had great success using Rapid Remover, just wet the paper and let is soak. I sprayed it really well and moved the excess around with a squeege. I then covered it with a disposable plastic drop cloth, this was done due to the procedure taking place outside on a very windy day, to slow down the evaporation. I waited about 10 minutes and the paper lifted off, without leaving any residue.
This was done on white acrylic.
