Hi Everyone, Has anyone lettered a Silver Birch Silverado Crew Cab? What colors looked best? Or would look best? And how would you letter a crew cab if you could do it your way?
Thanks, John

This is the color of my Colorado Crew cab. I've used Metallic Bright blue Pearl and Silver metallic and Charcoal metallic for drop shadows. These colors are subdued, but I prefer lettering that does'nt scream at you.
The truck came with fire red and black z71 decals that looked ok, but I removed them for a clean look.

Silver is a neutral color just like white and so the sky is the limit. Dark colors are good for outlines and brights are for main script and thats my opinion.
I truly believe that one has to look at the big picture when doing their own ride for business and therefore custom touches such as graphics and pinstriping fills in the reasons for other persons wanting to get a glimpse of something smart as it travels down the street.

I have a silver F-150 and the lettering is charcoal metallic with black striping and flourishes. Somewhat understated, but readable and not screaming.....

My opinion is that outlines can make any color lettering work on any background. Joey gave very good advice, as always. I personally like to see lighter colors pop off of a darker background; it just looks richer to me. If it's for your personal vehicle I wouldn't even consider not having outlined lettering - just don't outline everything, LOL.

DO NOT USE hot pink Brush Script with purple outlines. There's one running around here and it redefines ugly.
Rims, body trim, any decals or manufacturer logos it already has...play off of them. Makes it all look like a complete package instead of something you added later.

I once did a fleet of tow trucks with Magenta and proper purple.
Years ago I got a call to do a tow truck from a new company (knew them when they worked for another outfit). When I got there, the wife said: “I want it to jump out and be noticed! But gotta be cheap because we’re in hock up to our eyeballs!” I laughed and said: “How about pink and purple?” She said: “OK! Go for it!”
Later that day I got a call from him and he cussed me out for using faggy colors.
Three weeks later, they called me to do their 2nd truck. I asked “What color this time?” She said: Exact same thing!” I asked if I was going to get cussed out again. She laughed and said that the 1st time that he made a call with the truck, Highway Patrol stopped him and complimented him in that it looked good, was so noticeable and easy to read!
No! I did not use Brush Script!

I like the gun metal gray on the light gray. I would use that for the outline and smalller letters, and use black for the main letters inside the out line

I'm in the same camp that the choices on silver are almost endless.
One of my favorite color schemes on silver (if you're looking for some punch) is turquoise, kiwi green and charcoal, with some special effects of course.
Or like Ray said, you can't go wrong matching the existing trim colors for that factory package look.

i just want to chime back in. This truck looks silver until you put a silver vinyl on it. I've matched silver background magnetics to a ford silver and the visually disappear. This birch silver is a different animal and thats why it's a good question. Some of the standard solutions don't apply to this tone.
When I first got this truck, my mother in law thought it was a nice shade of Gold!
I could send a photo of mine to someone to post just so you can see what a big contrast this color is to metallic silver.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I think I'll stay away from the purple or magenta...I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea... Ray those colors look sharp.
