No cats allowed in this thread! Grrrrr!
I got Alice on New Years day of this year from a rescue league. She had been found abandoned, tied to a junk car and half starved to death 3 months earlier in downtown Atlanta. She needed a special home because she doesn't get along with other dogs and has issues with strangers. She's a true guard dog, but if she decides to get to know you, she just wants to be your bestest buddy and is the sweetest thing imaginable. Meanwhile, burglars beware!
She's a Perro de Presa Canario, a rare and exotic breed developed in the Canary Islands by Spaniards in the 16th century. She looks like a pit bull on steroids, but has no pit blood in her.
She likes to go for exceedingly long walks (I'm losing weight!), hide my shoes, bark at squirrels and scare the hell outta my friends!
I love her to pieces. Ladies and gentlemen, here's Alice:
Ok, let's see and read about everyone's pooches. Your mutts. Your critters. Your DAWGS!

I'm a "cat-man" too Mike ... had linx point siamese and blue burmese for years. Rufus my "best mate" (Red Burmese) was more like a dog than a cat and died at the ripe old cat age of 17. Miss his company in the workshop.
Sue is a "dog" person so I brought her this bundle of fur for her birthday 3 years ago. She was the little kid trailing behind the pack at the kennels when we went to choose one. Sue just said "I'll have that one!"
Candy: Maltese/Poodle ...
VERY smart (poodle) VERY loving (maltese) Great watch dog:
Probably lick them to death, but figure how she sticks to Sue she would tear the throat outa anybody who tried anything!
Candy does have a weakness tho ... (apart from ANYTHING eadible) is a certain "Scotty" owned by Frank.

We got the best human, grrrr I mean shop dog ever! She's a squirrel chasing, Purolator driver hating (she likes UPS drivers) hold down the rug type of chocolate lab. Her name is Teak and she turns 8 on Sunday. She speaks when spoken to, plays for almost a minute at a time, and will bring back a ball twice. After that she looks at you as if to say "well I brought it back twice now, stop throwing it away stupid!" If she gets to go skeet shooting she will chase those doggone bullets for hours, doing switchbacks, 'til she finds a piece of broken clay. If she needs exercise she has her own gun that she jumps for. Its a barrel and a piece of wood but its close enough to hunting for her. If you spill your beer she's right there to lick it up before you can stop her. She has 3 biscuits every morning and knows where they are and how to get somebody to get them for her. If she runs out of water she sits at her metal dish and clicks it by pushing the bottom of it until she gets some. And if she's not fed by 5:30 she kicks her food bowl across the kitchen at you. She's not allowed on the furniture, so if you leave her alone in the house you will find a full imprint of an 86 lb. dog, head on the pillow and all, on a freshly made bed. If you come back unexpectedly after telling her she is staying home, the head comes up over the back of the couch, but then slowly goes back down because you are really stupid and don't really realize she's on the couch. When she rides in the car she wants shotgun, and she wants the armrest down so she can sit in the front, arm up, and look like the real human she is. Until you stop and get out, then she is taking over the driving and if you don't come back she would gladly drive away with your vehicle. I have come out of the grocery store and had men in complete hysterics sitting beside the van. One guy swore up and down she had been waving to people. Yes food is the only thing worth living for, except when someone comes home. Then YOU are the only thing worth living for.

I will take one when she comes in Mark. She's out in the shop holding down the cement and watching Clare. No, don't worry its not just hard cement- she takes the rags out of the rag bag to lay on and get comfy. I haven't actually caught her, but if you leave a coat on a chair out there it misteriously finds its way to the floor and ends up with a dog imprint on it too.

Her favorite spot to lay is on the couch back, like a cat. She also likes to play with her food and bat it around and she licks her paws and cleans her face in a cat like manner. She is also nearly as aloof as a cat too She loves to go on walks in the park, will retrieve anything thrown but can't catch worth a flip. Loves everybody she meets and has endless energy. I swear, she could wear down a Jack Russel
We are currently doing conformation shows with her but I can't wait until she gets old enough to do agility trials.

One day a baby moose wandered into the yard. It hung around and we fed it and soon it allowed us to touch it. We named him Ralph. He hangs around the shop and the nearby woods. He's a hit with the customers who bring him aspen bows to eat. Although he doesn't bark when customers arrive he does bellow. We also use him on installs to clear brush and lift signs with a pulley system. This is a photo of Ralph and my dad hitching him to his rig. On installs he is an instant draw to the new sign being installed and crowds soon gather. In the fall we have a special collar of florescent orange to warn hunters he is a tame moose.

This is Sadie the shop dog. She is the early warning system of customer arrivals, waking me if I happen to be taking a nap in the back room. She is a bit of an embarrassment with female customers as she is a crotch sniffer, but what do you do. Don't leave a truck window or door open because shes always ready to go to town.

Here's a pup we sighted on the beach last summer. Not ours, but what a neat dog!
And this is our Jenna. She's about 4-5 now is my guess. We found her at the SPCA and she had been abandoned and just had a litter of pups. She was as skinny as a rail at the time and she is gorgeous now! She's part husky and shepard. She is so much my shadow and very quiet, rarely barks if at all. If you say to her, "Wana go for a walk?" she'll jump up and make total airspace like a rabbit and keep doing it as long as you ask her the same question. LOL

Well, when we are talking dogs, they don't come more lovable and cute than Heidi, the wonder dog! She is silky and soft, talks upon request, just generally cheers you up when you are having a bad moment. We take her to the shop and she guards the signs for us...
She has her own barrier to keep her in the back room. She wouldn't hurt a flea, but she is LOUD! She loves to throw her head back and "talk". Sometimes she will greet poeple at the front door and scare the begeezus out of them so we try to keep her in back with the guys....
Bill has been working on teaching her to drive....

Here's my precious pup, Chloe. I got her when she was 2, she's 5 now. She belonged to friends of my parents. When the husband's alzheimer's progressed he started being mean to her. So my daughter and I were the lucky recipients and it was love at first sight.
She LOVES people and treats everyone like her long lost friend. She's extremely cuddly and sweet. If she sees another dog though she kinda turns into the Tasmanian Devil...
She's okay with these dogs though

This is Teak the chocolate lab/vertically challenged human. Sorry should have had this in earlier but as I was talking here yesterday I got company. Today I couldn't add the pic because the time had run out. You can call her anything you want just don't call her late for dinner.

I'm really bummed right now. My big male Rottweiler, Fluffy, died last weekend. The neighbor's mean dog kept growling and trying to attack Fluffy through the fence. I don't know why people keep vicious dogs like that. Anyway, last Saturday, the ferocious dog dug under the fence and made for Fluffy. There was nothing we could do. It was all over in about 10 seconds and now Fluffy is gone. < < < < < < < < < < < < << << < < < < < <
The Chihauhua got stuck halfway down Fluffy's throat.
Ona more serious note... we have a huge German Shepher named George. George is a sweetheart...loves everybody.

One good dog, Grace. Can you believe someone would dump a face like that? When I got her she was only a few weeks old and just skin and bones. She apparently was losing the fight for food in the trash at the park where she was left.
