Last week, I got a call from a veteran race car driver in the area. He comes from a long line of racers and the family is into it big time. Although I've never done any work for him before, I've done cars for just about everyone else in the "clan". we set up a date for next Monday to have at it...business as usual.
A few nights ago, his son called and asked if the date was still booked. I confirmed it, then he mentioned he'd like to have his car done as well...or so I thought at the time. Being a little ahead of schedule, I asked if HIS car was ready to letter and that I could slide it in before his father's car. He dropped off the car a couple of days ago and said he wasn't sure if dad was bringing the car over Monday.
??????
This morning, just before wrapping up the son's car, dad called and explained that right after he'd booked with me here, the OTHER sign guy called and offered to do his car for free.
I figure it evens out in the end and is really no big deal. Credit given where credit's due...at least he had his son come by so it wasn't a lost job, per say, and the courtesy to call and explain the situation.
But just for good measure........ . . . . Check out what the son's bringing home tonight.
Monday's still open.... heheheheheheheh

Sooo you're going to post a pic of the free job too right? I want to see how the free one stacks up. If they out-do you for the sake of out-doing you or what. I'm thinking not.

Yeah, I thought you were going to post a pic of the "freebie"... Free, nada, zip, zero... LOL! That's probably what the job looks like too...
You know you just have to post the picture. At least you will need to email it to everyone who wants to see it. You have my email addy, Brudda Ray!
Nice flames. Better than I can do for sure.

Ya know, the nice thing about being in this business is the people in it.
I had a pretty good idea who the other sign guy was, and a phone called confirmed it. After a wee bit of deductive reasoning (and a few good laughs), it seems that... . . . . . . How do you keep a Letterhead in suspense? . . . .......hang on a couple of days. Yer gonna like this.
Rapid & cohort to be named at a later date.
