For those of you that have updated from the "old" Gerber programs...are you finding that it is easier to lose or misfile plot files on the new Omega program? Or am I just one of the priviledged few?
The learning curve seemed not so large...but recently it has been kicking my butt by losing hours of work.
Any secrets?

Yes Monte, this has happened a few times, Sometimes I save 2 different files, say 1234a, 1234b, just in case, especially if it involves a lot of work. It really sucks to lose hours of work, just to have to do it all over again.

I haven't had any problems. I would be curious to know how everyone else saves their files. My method by far might not be the best way but it works for me. I set up a new folder for on our server for each customer and save all files pertaining to that customer within. Maybe that's the norm, maybe not, but that's how I always done it.

That's how I do it, Bryan. The folders are also divided by program. In other words, the main folders are "Corel Draw Files" and "Gerber Files". Inside are the customer folders containing the files to that particular program. Everything is stored on the server and is backed up onto DVDs every so often.

That's basically the way we save them, but we save by invoice number. We really hav'nt had too many problems as of late all the same, but we did in the beginning. Make sure you have all the updates as well.

My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone. Posts: 3129 | From: Tooele, UT | Registered: Mar 2005

No problems here. I always double save files on separate drives just incase though. Been running Gerber products for 14 years almost flawlessly.
