We are well into another major feature for our Moose Mountain project. First it was trains, then planes... the logical step would be automobiles next... and well it is!!!!

This feature will also sport the course ID and is a photo opportunity for the facility. Its a logging truck which will also double as the 18th hole feature. Golfers will putt their ball into the logs from behind the truck.

WIth this project weight was once more a concern as the course is on the third floor of Mall of America. So we decided Magic Sculpt was the ticket instead of our normal sculpted FiberGlass Reinforced Concrete. It will get hard use too so this is going to be an acid test for the magic...

I welded up a pencil rod frame, just like for our concrete work, wired on the exoanded lath and then put down a thin coat of Magic Sculpt. Tomorrow we'l put on a thin, final smooth coat and then I'll start in on a TON of detail... everything from a cool grill, fancy hood ornament, chrome trim, guages, fancy seat covers, and a whack load of fun details... I can hardly wait!!!

 -

On the back we'll use Magic Smooth once more to work up textures on the logs...

Stay tuned for more details as the project progresses!!!!

Truckin' in Yarrow...

Nice...as always. Are the wheels and tires real? Or will they be replaced by Sawatzky creations?

But....where's the sign?

The wheels are real, but scaled down versions. I consider the whole thing a 'sign' but the face with words will be dimensional; of course and is being whittled on the MultiCam of course! Along with a few other bits and pieces. [Smile]

Can't wait to pop over and see it. It's only 40 minutes from my place. When will this project be open for the public?

I hear word that the Camp Snoopy is changing themes.....you in on that?

The official opening of Moose Mouintain is aimed at July 4th... coming FAST!

And yes we have been promised the re-themeing the old camp snoopy theme park to an all new Nickelodeon theme which is aimed at late spring of next year.

Jon - no problem. I'm still under you. We lose a little on each job but we make it up in volume.
