Sam, I have gotten bitten by the bug. I bought two Mack brushes at Dick Blick's before I got there and than Dauper talked me into the Mack Excalibur. I tried that one first and loved it so much that I never tried the others. I found that brush to be very forgiving of a shakey, beginners hand.
All I did was practice and was actually surprised how well I could do with it. I have been practicing on the dinner room table every few nights since. I love that brush. My husband wants me to get him one too.
Thanks for getting me into Detroit. I had so much fun.

I'm glad you're liking stripin' Laura. Some do, some don't. I still haven't tried the Excaliber. Got a good supply of Mack's left, but I will try them one day soon.
Being a former resident of the Cincinnati area, I am well aware of Dauber, have met and talked to him several times. He is one of the great stripers anywhere, and would be an excellent one for you to get some pointers from.
I just recently got the first 'real' striping job on a semi that I've had for a long time. Thank God, the customer loved it and promised more work in the future. It's out there....you just gotta show 'em what you can do.
Keep up the good work.

It was great to work with so many "Newbees" at the jam, everyone learns something at these events. We had several young people that never touched a brush painting for the first time. Like I always say "Just get the brush and paint" "maintain" AJ
