I am using the dimension tool in Corel X3 and I always zoom in and make sure that the dimension line is right where I want it.

In Corel 9, if it wasn't, I could grab and resize up or down. When I do in in X3, it just keeps popping back to where I originally let go of it. How do I change the preferences?

Seems like there could be a "seperate" or "break appart" command that would just turn it into an object.

I can do that but I don't want to separate the measurment from the line.

Perhaps you could group them after.

Corel X3 doesnt seem to support post dimension modification, not sure why. What I would offer is to use snap to objects when doing dimensions(alt+z) that will let you know you are on the spot you want everytime and resizing wont be needed.

Is there a preference that I can set to make the font default to a much bigger size?

The default "Artistic Text" size is the font default for the dimension tool.
