I've got Chris Daughtry's CD playing here today. AWESOME!
For those of you who may not know who he is, he was on last year's American Idol. Got voted off before his time, but heck, we all knew he'd make it despite that.
Fabulous CD! I highly recommend it.
It rocks! ~nettie

Over the weekend I bought Lily Allen's "Alright, Still" album and I haven't stopped listening to it.
Her music reeks of that bubble gum British pop sound (she is a Brit, afterall). At first listen she sounds all nice and sweet, has a great voice! but when you actually pay attention to the lyrics, she's a little... well... sarcastic and sadistic to put it kindly.

The last 4 days were spent laying 144 square feet of gold leaf on large panels for the back wall of a 'Hard Rock Cafe' stage...and LISTENING to an Almond brothers concert from 1971, Elvin Bishop at the Filmore West 1971, Tower of Power at the Filmore 1971...along with others. If you haven't found this site before, check it out. Bill Graham who produced so many rock concerts back in the day still has recordings from alot of those shows and they are available online in the form of a streaming player. Excellent music!

Just found a killer music store here in VAB. Planet Music...new and used all intermingled together...I'm worried about the future of my checking account.
Picked up and have had on steadily: Descendents: Somery Frank Black: Teenager of the Year Mission of Burma: vs.
and just downloaded and have been enjoying a live recording of the Yonder Mountain String Band
good stuff.
Pat...I'm a big Social D fan, the most recent album is one of my favorites...one of the few bands that seem to get better with each release.

I don't know if I'm tarded or not but I listen to Public Radio, being the artistic backwoods liberal that I am. Maybe its because I work mostly alone and like the background noise of talk radio. It keeps me up with current events. Then when its cocktail hour, we crack a cold one and listen to of the oldies, Stevie Ray, ZZ Top, Areosmith, Stones and start second shift in the shop when the real work gets done. Right now its seven at night, havning a bloody mary, listening to Guns and Roses and carving the kids Pinewood derby cars with the CNC.

I was watching the ball drop on new years eve and they were interviewing that Daughtry guy and his band minutes before midnight. The absolute best media placement possible. When asked about life on the road they answer "we argue a lot about FASHION"

I have to admit i was curious and I d/l the album for a listen, couldn't get past the 4th cut of pablum... overpackaged and overproduced ... won't be repeated...
