Im preparing a layout for lettering a new ambulance
The crew wants a stripe on the sides...with a
graphic included to look like a heartbeat on a
monitor...
What is the proper name for that heartbeat symbol?

Mike, I should know the proper name for that---but I don't. Generically, it would be the graphic for EKG, or electrocardiogram.

It's called a Q R S complex. I think you can find one in Vector Art.

Or go into Google under images and type in
Q R S complex, I just did and a bunch of them come up.

The first ambulance, of many, I lettered had the same thing. I tried to do the few bumps thing like Lotti is suggesting. Nope, will not work. Owner of the ambulance company gave me a printout of the ECG, and proceeded to explain what every bump and peak on it meant. It has to be done a certain way.
