I have an Edge and someone is wanting a decal using royal blue as the main color. OK so I used the process colors and printed it. They didn't like it because it was not a solid color. What color foil should I use that is the closes to Royal Blue to print a solid color? Thanks.

Cynthia, You may have to purchase a 'spot' colour foil.
One more idea is (and this depends what the image is) you can print white onto royal blue vinyl using the vinyl itself as the royal blue colour you need and print the image onto that.
Let me know how it works.

That is an age old question, some think sapphire blue is royal blue some think lt navy is royal blue, some think purple is royal blue. Use a gerber color chart and get them to pick it or a pms color and you pick the closest. good luck Bill

You should be able to get a color chart from your nearest distributors of ZeroNine, Duracoat and Gerber foils. Then, simply compare the samples and determine which is closest to what you need.
If none of them are acceptable, your Omega software has a feature called Spectratone. With it, you can overprint two separate spot foils to create the color you need.
If you haven't seen it yet, check out Gerber's blog. It has a lot of helpful hints on how to get the most out of your Edge.

Thanks about the "Blog". I didn't know anything about it. Guess I need to go to the site more. I can't even get a saleman to call me when I want to upgrade my software. Leave messages and they don't return my calls. Guess I need to do more searching on my own but I am really glad to find out about the "blog". Thanks again.

do you know about 4edgetalk.com ? it's a board similar to this, though it is far less active, it has the Gerber Edge as it's main focus & will be much more beneficial then Gerbers blog. Plus the guy who was writing that blog blog for gerber participates on 4edgetalk.com currently, as does gerbers software designer.

I agree. I found it only recently myself. I don't know why it was abandoned unless there just wasn't enough traffic or somebody got shuffled at the company. I do think they would have done better to redirect their energy at 4EdgeTalk.
