I'm still pumping out that nifty one color at a time vinyl graphics. It's high time to start jazzing up the artwork with some digital effects.
Prism letters, chrome, you get the idea. I really need the ABC's on how to achieve this on my current software of Corel 8 and 9, and Signlab.
Could you please direct me to the right kind of software/plugins to purchase?
Incidently, Mark Yearwood's writeup in Signcraft Nov/Dec 2006 finally helped me make my long awaited decision to get with it. His work with vinyl with just the right touch of digital effects was brilliant. Not too much, just enough to make the designs pop. Nice work Mark!

buy eyecandy from alienskin software. it is a plugin that works with any bitmap software so it works with Corelpaint.
I just copy lettering from Draw and paste into Paint. you set your drawing area in Paint to match the size of your lettering in Draw. warning though!! scale down your lettering so that you don't end up creating a huge bitmap. I usually work it into 30"x6", as in, no bigger that either of those measurements.
if you need more help I could do a proper step by step some time. let me know

Here's a list of tutorials from their "Impact" forum. They also have Nature and Texture plug ins or you can probably still find 3000 and 4000(previous versions). Check for compatability with your version of Corel.

Eyecandy! For the price you cant beat it. That being said Corel has quite a few plugins already even back in the previous versions. I use textures fairly frequently for the lil touches (ie plastic texture on an outline gives a realistic trimcap)and then Eyecandy mostly for metal finishes.

SignLab Print & Cut has fills already loaded in it. I use those frequently to show special effects.
