My mother has been in a nursing home for the past five years. Prior to that my brothers and I had a nurse staying with her during the day for over two years. She had the early stages of Alsheimer (sp?) and stayed confused most of the time, not knowing where she was or why she couldn't go home.
Early this morning, while she slept, God came and gently took her home. She was 92 and the youngest of six daughters, and also the last to die. All her sisters lived into their late 80's but she outdid them all.
Our family was blessed by a loving Mother and even more blessed that she didn't suffer physically in her later years. There is sadness today because we will not have her to brighten our day, but joy filled to know that she is now in a place that she looked forward to being almost all her life.
Her name was Lotena Adell Chapman.

I am sorry to hear Raymond. My grandmother passed away a few years back of the same. Sounds like she lived a good long life. My sympathies to you and yours.

I'm really sorry to hear about that Raymond. My mom is also in the alzheimer's unit of a nursing home; she's 94. She spends more time talking to her deceased brother and sisters, mom and dad than to the living so it won't be long before she goes too.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Ray. It is nice to know that this is really not the end, just the end of suffering and pain. She has entered perpetual peace. God bless you with this assurance.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your Mom, Raymond. She sounds like she was a cool person...with a neat name. I'm the youngest of 4 sisters so I can identify with her. She also raised a very fine son. You are a testament to her motherhood. I am so lucky to still have my mom (81) in all her feisty glory. I don't let a day go by without calling her and telling her that I love her. Love....Jill

No matter how old and independent we are, the loss of a parent still cuts deep. From what I have experienced, she raised a fine son with excellent morals and character. I'm sure she was proud of the results. Take Care.

So sad to hear this Ray, but my it sure is a blessing how she went, in her sleep. Just think, when you see her again, she will be healthy! What a glorious time that will be!

We too are sorry for your lose. My mom died a couple of years ago. I don't like thinking of death so I just figure they moved to a new home. We'll all get together one of these days.

My condolences Ray ...your mother has moved on as we all must do one day, but don't let it make you sad. It's just her body that's gone, not her spirit.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Raymond. Losing a parent is a very difficult thing. I know you also lost a brother not long ago.
My mother died 12-1/2 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think of her (of course, I also have her picture as the wallpaper on my computer). Even without that, her memory is never far away and the unselfish kindness and love for others that she instilled in her five children will always be a part of us.

Ray, you and your mom are in my thoughts and prayers. So sorry for your loss of a dear person, and I am also thinking about the serenity she now has. What a fine son she raised, so kind and a great role model for others. I miss mom so much too. It's been 18 years. I love her and feel her presence everyday, really.
