The Chippewa Brush Bash is old news. August of 2006 has come and gone. But wait... the aftermath never leaves! Our town received another face lift last summer thanks to the Letterheads, and I wanted to share with you some of the news and thank you once again by sharing some of the recent events that have happened.
In January, I was fortunate to have a real nice article about Gaber Signs in a monthly regional business newspaper, and it gave me a chance to give the Brush Bash some ink too. Then in February, it was time for the Chippewa Falls Main Street banquet (Main Street was our co-host for both Brush Bashes) and I received the Main Street volunteer of the year award. The entire theme of the banquet was "Volunteers Help Paint the Town" and the people were so appreciative for all of the murals that everyone helped bring to life. At each place setting, there was a gift pack of six black and white post cards depicting some of the murals. Paint cans and brushes were the center piece at all of the tables. That night, I also found out that in April, I will be recognized at the State Main Street Banquet in Rice Lake with a plaque signed by the governor.
The next day, the Chippewa Herald gave me some ink about the volunteer award on the front page of the paper and I plugged the Brush Bash again. A week later, the Eau Claire newspaper caught wind of the story, and once again the murals of the Brush Bash were featured.
Just last week I previewed a video that the local cable TV outfit is putting together and they are just about ready to put the final touches on a 15 minute DVD promoting Chippewa Falls Main Street, which is mainly featuring the murals of downtown. Three months ago they interiewed Jim Schuh from CFMS and myself about the murals, and I was able to name some names of our hard working painters and sponsors and this will be aired on our local cable TV. I'm going to get a copy of the DVD once it's complete and I'd like to add in a bunch of photos that I received from a local photographer and get these out to some of the key painters that made this all possible. I think this DVD could be a great tool for anyone who might be interested in hosting a meet because it's very visual. They even rolled credits of all of our sponsors at the end of the DVD too, so it's great that the sponsors will get some recognition as well.
So, with all of the hard work from our Brush Bash painters, we accomplished a great task in sprucing up some old walls and creating some buzz in our downtown. Thank you all again for tackling a huge amount of work in such a short time... it seems that we get compliments on the murals a few times a week. I just wanted to make sure that I shared this success story with those of you who were here to help make it all happen!

I was fortunate enough to see up close all the work and dedication that you and your family put into the Brush Bash 2 event , and you deserve all the recognition that's coming your way.
It's nice to see a Walldog event get some good press beyond the event dates. The amount of work accomplished in a few days at these events is phenomenal!
Congratulations Kurt from a fellow paint slinger....glad I was able to be a part of this great event!

Thanks to all, but despite what I put into this for time, none of the recognition would be possible without the Letterhead team who came to town and busted their butts!
The bronze statue would look more like something of Iwo Jima fame... Dale Manor holding up a sign post, Mike Meyer pushing it into place with a post hole digger, Matt Rolli with an army helmet on leaning against Andy and Lauri Goretski... wait, that's his natural smooth head, nevermind, Dave Petri's combat boots full of paint spatter and finally myself with a two-way radio in my hand, bracing Mike Meyer's arse with the nose of a golf cart.
Dale, you know how much work was done because you did one heckuva share of it that was yet to be completed after the meet was over!
