Robert Dafford is a wonderfully talented Muralist. I've had the opportunity to work in the same town as him on occasion and we've shared a number of meals together. He is one awesome artist who works detailed masterpieces in record time.
He used to work with his brother Doug although I'm not sure if he still does.
The pictures of his work pale in comparison to the real thing up close.
One TALENTED guy!

Ah yes...i know Robert! I lived across the street from him years ago. But anywho the man is extremely talented. Nice guy too! He's got a couple of murals here in town.
Dan,(may i call you that with this being my first post and all!), his brother Doug's obituary was in this past Sunday's paper. He lost his battle with leukemia.

Holy Acadians!!! Excellent stuff Sonny, thanks for the link.
Kathy, we call him MultiDan! Master of the MultiCamm We call him a lot- we call him when we need advice, we call him when we need encouragement, we call him when our lines won't squiggle! He's probably pretty sick of us calling him.

Hi Kathy and welcome to Letterville. Thanks for your update, although I'm sad to hear about Doug.
We were down your way at a Letterhead meet in Ponchatoula a few years ago. If I'd known about the murals, a side trip would definitely have been taken.....

Thanks for the warm welcome. Y'all have a great site here. I've been lurking for awhile now and have learned many new tips. I must say y'all blow me away with some of your jobs.
Santo, I don't know if it was rebuilt or not. But...i did notice Mr. Dafford is a member here now. I saw his name as the latest member yesterday. Can i confess that it was the mid 80's when i lived across the street from him? lol

His style is really beautiful. The softness of the shading and the historical subjects really interest me. All the detail on concrete; isn't it amazing how he masters the wall? Being from Ohio for 16 years, Portsmouth inspired so many people in the mural business. It's definitely worth traveling too. You'll remember them all of your life. thank God for talented, giving people like these; it's like a song with color from heaven.
