I plan on being there...not certain yet. I'll be working the Standoff Systems booth a bit, or just wandering around, soaking up the eye candy, or lost somewhere in the dessert on a short walk with Grandpa Dan.

well, kinda. Ms.Z & myself will be there during the show, but have no plans on atteding-just an excuse to partially write off & show her Vegas. My Guard unit was @ NellisAFB back in 95'. my running buddy & myself did quite a bit -no gambling or drinking, just a lot of signtseeing...it's ok once. RED ROCK - V -of-Fire ! Mt. Charleston !!!Laughlin !cheap buffets !
We have a timeshare unit on Tropicana Ave.?, 4 miles off the strip-kinda near the airport-Tahiti ( not Tahiti Village )....we got it from a friend.
Ok,here's the point. We plan on leaving Vegas & heading east to stay & visit the Grand Canyon & etc. so we will leave the room empty from April 11-13.check out is friday the 13th.
Since we are not the owners of the timeshare, lets hand off the keys to the room on the 10th ( tues. night ) or the 11th am ? this is "flexable"- just trying to keep the front desk out of the loop. Hey....they always say...What happens in Vegas......stay's there right?
i prefer to offer this to the basis that good chi creates good chi. My wife will probably not enthusiastically "approve" of the idea ( after 22 years of marriage nothing new huh...she is sweet though )....but i bought the time share from a lady @ my church @ a silent auction for $$$ for a ministry-so ...in a way we got a "blessing" & or approval right ?
let me know, got more details, cell info etc.
The letterheads community, particularly the familiar members are good folks, so trust is not an issue for me.
take care Z

Ask Dan for direction to the hotel.... I dare ya! He mentioned something about seeing the Hoover Dam. He figures we should set out in the morning so the sun isn't in our eyes.

I despise trade shows, and I don't like the glitz of Vegas one bit. But the Valley of Fire and Goodsprings are worth seeing. Love....Jill

I think I'll go. Even though I have done very little sign work this past year and a half I'll probably always do some. "Its in my blood" is what an oldsignpainter once told me who tried to change careers. I'm only 250 miles away now and 1 mile up in the mountains

I'm trying to settle down on the number of days to attend. Perhaps someone would give a hint as to their schedule and what to expect.

It all depends on just how you go about seeing a conference this big. If you take in any of the seminars that will take a bunch of time and determine just when you need to be there.
I walk fast and far without breaks (just ask Duncan) and it took me the better part of a day to see the whole show just to get an overview of what's happening. If you like to dawdle and talk (that's what I do the second time around) it will take a lot longer than that. On the second go around I talk to those I want to and gather information, brochures and things.
I'm flying in on Thursday evening so I have Friday and Saturday to spend at the show... then leave Sunday morning.
The show is HUGE... make that MASSIVE. Lots to see, everything from soup to nuts regarding signs... primarily manufacturers of sign making equipment and supplies.... If you want to see whats new in the sign making industry this is the show to attend.

Dan's right on about the walking. I'll just add, this is not a good time to try out a new pair of shoes. Your feet are going to take a beating, take your most comfortable shoes and ones that have good support.

Okay Dan we're going to need a couple of sections of scaffolding on wheels so we can take the girls on a tour of the "Strip". This time we'll get Laurie up there too!!!! This is going to be a partay!!

Yeah right Duncan! Being left stranded on scaffolding in the middle of an intersection in Mazeppa was one thing....in Vegas...not happening. I'll be hiding behind your wife. Actually I think maybe Laurie and I will be hiding in front of a machine.... Thanks for talking me into this Tracie and Dawn...that was easy huh? We need to do a cell phone exchange...yeah I finally got one...Jim gave it to me.
