The Sabres are kicking ass and taking names. Leading the conference and second place in the league. They can stay right where they are.
The Wild? I follow them half-heartedly. There is no one to go to games with around here anyways. I did go to the Ex but it was to see Bob Dylan. I had a free ducat.

The Oil played a pretty good game tonight against Chicago. There sure hasn't been much consistancy this year, mind you there wasn't last year either. I wish the heck KLowe would sign Ryan Smyth already. Maybe we can get Pronger back.... ya right. Anyway two things are certain.... The Flames and Ducks suck!!!

Honestly I haven't been following hockey too closely this year, been busy with work.
I went to one game and I'm gonna go see Malkin and Crosby play in Pittsburgh in March.
The Oilers haven't exactly been too good this year. One game they'll play good, then the next they suck bad!! They have to start winning NOW to get in the playoffs. And being in the toughest division in the league isn't helping. Lowe needs to make some trades. Lupul has gotta go!!

The Penguins have finally come to life and are on a 12 game point streak, 10 wins and 2 overtime losses. They have jumped from 13th to 5th in the Eastern Conference. Stevo, you will have a ball watching the Flightless Birdies.

Watch out for my Lightning. We have a goalie now. Also Vinny leads the league in goals and he and Marty are 2nd and 3rd in scoring. Just put 4 on Brodeur last night. Stanley likes it down South.

Time for a Playoff update. How'd your team make out. We've got the Devils. We've been good against them for a while now, but Brodeur is still Brodeur.

Hi Bob....I went to the WIld game on Saturday night and we beat St.Louis 5-1, it was fan appreiciation night, very impressive, the freebees for fans were coming at us right and left! (I think it was because the owners knew Brooce was NOT at the game!) They gave away the players jerseys right off there backs, literially! During the game, random seats were displayed on the scoreboard of all players on the roster. After the game those people in the randomly selected seats were ushered to center ice, and starting from the smallest number, (3) that player skated to the random seat holder, had a picture taken, they took off their jersey, and autographed it, then gave it to the fan, and then went to the locker room...very classy! They also gave away a Boat with the WIld Colors and Logos, and also gave away a huge color tv, year supply of coca cola, and many many more free bees, all because Bruce Bowers was NOT there! My son and I got a picture with former North Star and current radio color man, Tom Reid before the game! (Mr. Reid asked me if Bruce would be at the game that night, and I said NO, he was very happy!)
We start playing the Ducks this week, featuring the lamest logo in the NHL. I prefered the Disney Mighty Duck myself.
Speaking of lame Logo's..The Buffalo Slugs? Come on! PLEASE! Bruce, why? Why do they do that?

You will notice that the change in logos came AFTER I left western New York. W@hy the change? Who knows. It wasn't my call. I kind of liked the goats head logo, myself.
BTW... Doug Reid says his brother is a punk and Cesar Maniago says he was glad he wasn't there, too, since you were there. Not enough room in the arena for both of your egos. Hahahahahahahahaha!

Doug and Tom own a sporting goods store, Reid Sports, in Fort Erie, ON for years. They were THE people to go see for CCM skates and goalie equipment. Doug was a minor league right wing in the late 60's to early 70's.
I ain't afraid to go to a game in Minnesota. Heck, I went to MSG and rooted for the Sabres. I went to Boston Gardens and did the same. Minnesota is a cakewalk compared to those two places...
Now that the playoffs are here, I will two teams to rooting for... for now, anyways. Let the games begin!

Although there are some really good teams in the playoff's this year, I for one like Buffalo's chances. They have a well balanced team with a great offense. The only team to score over 300 goals!
By the way....I think the Sharks have the coolist logo! What's your choice for best hockey team logo?
The red team is the Plattsburgh State Cardinals (home team), and the blue team is the Fredonia State Blue Devils (near Buffalo).
Both teams are NCAA Div 3 teams. (68 teams total, in 8 different conferences) The conference they play in is SUNYAC (State University Of New York Athletic Conference)
These are colleges without athletic scholarships (unlike Div 1). Most of the kids are a bit smaller, or maybe couldn't make the Div 1 ranks.
Great hockey to watch. Fast and furious. Most of these kids will not play hockey after they graduate from college. Some go on to play ECHL, or the such, or coach juniors.
About 30-32 games in a season. Most away games are a few hour drive away at most, into New England, and across NY.
Here's another one of Cooper and Tozzo crashing the net. Flat-out.
Rapid, that IS the Bruins moment!
It's all good with hockey!
Peace, Bob
