I have to agree with Mr. Vanson.

In the 70's there was a report that the world was getting colder, but there was no internet, cable Tv was just starting, and there were not all these mouthpeices on TV.

Now, because there is more of an outlet to reach people, global warming is pushed more, but the bottom line is the earth will survive, with or without us.

If you want to do something to help, do it for your kids children, they are the ones that will be affected, we will all be long gone before that...

Please don't hand your children the weapons!

Hey Joey
You'll like this:
22 yrs ago I built my own home. Designed too. It was designed as an underground house. Solar assisted heat & water. Recycling septic system, 2 yr cycle on that system so the waste could be composted to use as fertilizer.
No lending institution would lend me a dime to build it.
I raised it up to an earth-bermed structure, dropped the septic for conventional leach fields.
Still no money. I now live in a unique, conventionally built above ground home.
It's going on the market for sale soon...

Kyoto is a city in Japan
Here ...
I do what I can (mainly to save a buck ... energy is expensive)
World warms ... world cools.
Global warming ... Nuclear winter ... screwed either way.
As a ”Graphic Artist... maybe I’ll draw a pretty picture of it but I don’t think that picture is gonna change much about the workings of the universe…. Other than using recycled paper. [Roll Eyes]
The world is f****d and always has been… always will be.
I tell my kids they won the lottery being born when they did, where they did.
The good old days?
How would you have liked to have been born 100 years ago (pre-global warming, yeah right)... 200 years ago ... the middle ages?
Think about it this way ... one word ...
P****
Hundred years ago ... 2 hundred ...
these days it comes in flavors. [Big Grin] [Applause]
No one likes pollution …
What is glooming and dooming my short time here (a great time to be here) going to do about it. (intimidate rather than educate)
The world’s a scary place ... And ...

One night I jumped into a freshly dug grave,
Laid down in it...
and all I could see was a 3 foot by 6 foot
section of the universe.
It was in a Orthodox Jewish Cemetary where a
friend was employed.
He even kicked in some dirt, just to make a
statement.
We were both stoned but this talk about the
earth bein' on it's last leg ain't sh(t !
And I believe we will survive mishaps and move
on.
What is really most impotant though is to laugh
and have as much fun as possible.
Stress is the tool of dumbing down people and
the planet in one lump.

Put on some music and dance yer a$$ off.

"The staement on the opposite side is false"
"The statement on the opposite side is true"
And so is the universe from a grave....

Ray Reahume, you are knockin on my door man...

It is obviously happening around us.

This is the beginning paragraphs of a report released last Friday. Make what you will of it.

"Everybody in the United States could switch from cars to bicycles.

The Chinese could close all their factories.

Europe could give up electricity and return to the age of the lantern.

But all those steps together would not come close to stopping global warming.

A landmark report from the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, released Friday, warns that there is so much carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere that even if concentrations held at current levels, the effects of global warming would continue for centuries.

There is still hope. The report notes that a concerted world effort could stave off the direst consequences of global warming, such as widespread flooding, drought and extreme weather.

Ultimately eliminating the global warming threat, however, would require radical action.

To stabilize atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide — the primary contributor to global warming — CO2 emissions would have to drop 70% to 80%, said Richard Somerville, a theoretical meteorologist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla."

The rest is here if you are interested.

Santo,

I like that article too. Although it is of little comfort that solar ray fluctuations could be the biggest cause of global warming/cooling. In affect, turning the iceage on and off.

Yep, I feel MUCH better about the state of the environmental for my decendants now...

You are assuming that "decendants" are given in the future. If much of our known existance is taken away or rendered to be excess, will procreation be a right that government and science will also try to take away. They don't need you to get your jollies to continue their idea of a "better human race."
