I rooted for Payton already today. What an excellent game!! I only hope the Super Bowl is as good. I gotta go for Da bears... but a good close contest is always my first wish.

But I tell you what, we were CHEERING!!! There were several calls to & from friends and our son in Chicago, gloating over this play or that...GOOO BEARS!!! ANy body know where I can buy some more orange and blue sweatshirts? hehehehe

Bears beat our poor dissappointed butts yesterday, and I think they can win the Super Bowl. What a defense! That 8 man lineup against the quarterback is gonna be hard to beat. Grossman throws like the ball was shot out of a cannon. Unfortunately for us "Saintiacs" the Bears were the better team. Good luck in the Super Bear Bowl!

The Saints came marching in, but it wasn't their day. They have a great team and a first class quarterback. They have a bright future. The weather may have been a factor as dome teams are now 0-10 in conference championships. That being said ... GO BEARS!!!!
Payton Manning played an unbelievable game against another great team. He's another class act. It was a magical comeback for the Colts. That being said ... Go Bears!!!!
Having 2 African American coaches (and friends) square off in the big one is another milestone worth noting. Good for them, they're both class acts. That being said ... GO BEARS!!!!
Jay Allen, I'll party with you any time, and our house is always open to you. Although I've never met you Crazy Jack, I know you and I have things in common and would instantly bond, so I hope to get with you some time too. That being said ... GO BEARS!!!!

Kathy, it's only a game - but one thing that everybody in our area (and damn near every Bears fan) respects is what the Saints did from last year to this year - all things considered with Katrina, no home games, etc. When they say 'wait'll next year' (you have to be a Cub fan to know what that means) you can bet that next year New Orleans will be even better - even with a tougher schedule. Scary.
The Saints head coach screwed up by not bringing them to Chicago to acclimate to the cold weather for a few days. If they had, their timing would've been better - and they may have won the game. Sorry, cold slows you down - and each person is slowed differently. Football is all about timing. To practice in a dome all week was not the right move. Bet he doesn't do it again!!
Bill, you're a football coach. Isn't that your opinion? Cold can be tough.
See you in the playoffs next year. Who dat'? Them Saints!!

In my coaching days, one of the biggest obstacles was coaching in cold weather. Our staff spent hours figuring out ways to keep hands warm and spirits high. You feel body pain differently in cold weather. The hits have a little more sting to them.
Even though these guys are pros, I would agree with you, Jay, that practicing in the cold might have given the Bears an advantage. You're sure right about the Saints, though, we were very concerned about that team, and they did have one remarkable season with all thing considered.

The Saints are truly a great team; Go Bears, of course, but, look at the Saints spirit too! I was really moved to see what they've accomplished and to note what life-changing obstacles they've gone through with Katrina, and the aftermath. Wow, life is exciting, and with a bit more cold weather training, well, the Bears have to consider that angle. What a game.

Jay, Bill, and Deb, thanks for being so gracious. But even coach Peyton is saying that the bears played a better game. Proud, yes we are after being the laughing stock of the NFL for 40 years we are in love with Peyton and his boys. But it would have been nice to see Bobby Hebert aka "the cajun cannon" wearing a dress to the Super Bowl!!!
Ray, next year's hope has kept the Saintiacs going for 40 yrs, it can hold you over 1 season!

Ahhhhh.... Kathy, it's the spirit and fortitude of team that is outstanding, wow...it really moves me; I saw on the news how some families rebuilt their home and had a football party and then there was a neighborhood parade even after their loss, they were triumphantly victorious in spirit for their team!

Now, is this a sign related post? Huh? This thread has absolutely NOTHING to do with signs. C'mon, this is a sign related website and we should be talking about nothing else than signs.
Nah, this real life. Bring it on!

Only a True Chicago Bear Fan Will Understand This…
A Chicago Bears Fan was drinking in a Green Bay bar when, he receives a call on his cell-phone. He hangs up, grinning from ear to ear, and orders a round of drinks for everybody in the bar announcing his wife has just given birth to a typical Chicago Bears baby boy weighing 25 pounds. Nobody can believe that any new baby can weigh in at 25 pounds, but the Bear Fan just shrugs, "That's about average back home, folks, like I said, my boy's a typical Chicago Bears baby boy. Congratulations showered him from all around, and many exclamations of "WOW!" One woman actually fainted due to sympathy pains. Two weeks later, he returns to the same bar. The bartender says, "Say, you're the father of that typical Chicago Bears baby that weighed 25 pounds at birth. Everybody's been making bets about how big he'd be in two weeks. So how much does he weigh now?" The proud father answers, "Seventeen pounds!" The bartender is puzzled, concerned, and a little suspicious. "What happened? He already weighed 25 pounds the day he was born!" The Chicago Bear father takes a slow swig from his beer and leans into the bartender and proudly says, "Had him circumcised!"
