I have a feeling that I'm going to love Saturdays from now on... that will be my first day off after a week with Donna in the shop.
Don't let that innocent, sweet look fool you... she drove a very hard bargain when we negotiated her coming to work for us. The terms are complex and convaluted... and certain things HAD to be done NOW... BEFORE she would even consider starting work... no waiting for this lady.
One of the many terms of the deal was a special place for her coffee maker... I thought it could go on a pile of boxes near a handy plug... but no it had to be in the break area and on a real counter. The trouble was that the microwave was taking up all the available room on the counter.
SO..... I went to Home Depot today and picked up some new upper cabinets... installed them too. Now the microwave has its own place. There's room for her cups and saucers, a drawer for cutlery too... even a dedicated plug for Donna's coffee maker. And the bar fridge has room for her coffee creamer too.
I still have to install the paper towel rack though... forgot to pick that up today.
Getting ready for Donna in Yarrow...

Dan. Negotiations could'nt have been too tough if Donna has to provide her own coffee pot! I think there's a law that says the Employer must provide the coffee maker.

hey... some "dedicated" outlet.. the fridge is plugged in half of it?
...don't you realize there will be a grinder next...
...& then an espresso maker... with another plug for foaming the cream?
Congratulations Donna... I think you're gonna need a lot of caffeine to keep up with the level of excitement around there... which of course make the whole arrangement seem all the more ideal!

For the record the plug is split... each outlet on its own circuit. And Donna INSISTED on her own coffeepot.
As far as weather... I don't think its going to snow... the forcast I heard called for WARM rain.

Is it just me...or is it strange that the fridge's power cord seems to come thru a hole in the countertop?
Shouldn't the outlet be near the floor hidden behind the fridge?
Seems like something my grandpa would do.....oh, that's right "Grandpa" Dan....I get it.
Just teasin ya Dan....looks great...and more importantly, you're keeping your more feminine employee happy....hehehe.
P.S. Oh, and she's gonna need a space heater and a monogramed sweat suit for those cold days.
And I don't see any Wet Wipes on the counter either....or Kleenex, or fluffy bunny slippers....women get cold real easy you know - and they hate dirty countertops.

LOL Todd... Dan loves his shop real cozy like. I've swapped my long sleeves for short already! It's great not having to shiver like I do in most shops/bays when installing.
And all that work for that counter, man, yet there never seems to be the right time for a coffee. Maybe once my hands are out of glue, I may give it a go.
Dirty counters (in a shop of course) are just fine by this low maintenance gal and I have permission to clean them anytime I feel the need.
