My 93 year old friend said he wanted to give me a book with a bunch of alphabets in it. He called me the other day all excited, & said it had a lot of information on gilding in it. He could hardly wait to bring it over!

Here, it is a 1909 copy of Atkinson His Book Sign Painting! The binding is a bit loose, a few pages were written on a little, but it is in fine shape! It has 378 pages in it.

That little stinker, Frank. He even put a Christmas sticker in it written to me. I don't care if it depreciates the value. I love it, & I think I better make Frank a nice gift!

The funny thing is, Frank's father was a sign painter & tried to get Frank into it, but Frank had no interest. He got this book around 1930 from an old bow's brother! He is so neat, a few weeks ago, I spent a whole day at his house while he showed me old photos from WW 2, & growing up in the depression.

Men like Frank are rare gems. There numbers diminish every day. I am blessed to have him as a friend!

Really cool. I have been trying to find this book myself. My dad bought me a 1920 E.C. Matthews book and it came in the mail today. Early christmas present.

Hooray for you, Bobbie!
I cherish mine.
I think yours is older.
