I have been trying to remember a famous blond actress of the late 50's early 60's. She was right about the time frame and age of Kim Novak and Tuesday Weld. I remember hearing that she was German and was surprised. I'll tell ya later why I want to know.

Only one I can think of, considering fact I missed most of the 60's, is Connie Francis, I know she was a singer, but a damn good actress too! Another would be a gal simply known as "Candy", used to show up on the beach blanket movies of the time and as she's not blonde, Annette can't be considered...
What's w/the big secret anyway? Hate waiting for what always turns out to be important info that would have made whole thing so much easier to begin with...you're not playing us are you? lol

Elke Sommer. I'm pretty sure that it was her. Now the reason why. My dad's little sister married a german man right after the war and growing up my family spent many happy weekends camping together until Uncle Rolf died suddenly at 42, leaving my aunt with 3 young kids.
I am developing a close relationship with my cousin that was much younger than me and she had told me a few years ago that her dad, Rolf had been married 4 times before marrying my aunt at 22 years of age (He was 27). One of his previous wives was Elke Sommer. I had forgotten who the movie star was and when I saw my cousin today and asked her about who it was, she couldn't remember her name. Thanks guys.

You may want to keep looking. IMDB shows Elke Sommer ( real name Elke Schletz ) has been married two times. from 1964-1981 and from 1993 to the present.

I'll have to check with my next week but I believe the marriage took place in Germany. I can't imagine being married 4 times before a person was 27. I loved this man so much. He was my favorite uncle and it just blows my mind that my aunt wasn't the first. My cousin said that she saw pictures of her dad and this woman.

I remember Elke being on Mike Douglas (or something like that) and talking about her experiences with a haunted house. I always liked her. As for Candy, wasn't she the one who wore the fringed dress (or swimsuit) and danced? Her hip thrust could knock a guy down at 20 paces! I loved those beach movies. Wish I had 'em all on DVD. And I always thought Jayne Mansfield was an American? Didn't she have a heart-shaped swimming pool? Love....Jill

Elke can also paint. She has a unique style, very earthy, county looking paintings, with strong colors. I remember about 20 years ago seeing a TV show with her showing her technique of painting. She would paint the figures in solid colrs with black outlines. After it was dryed, she would cover the whole painting with a black wash. Then she would wipe off the black to bring out the highlites of the objects in the painting. It was a long time ago, but I still remember.
