I have one and very happy with it. The Graphtec machines are very good and reliable too. Their tech support has been tip top. What you need to find out, is how much it was used and how old it is. Unfortunately Howard Keiper retired as thier rep here on letterville or you could probably ask him what the machine your looking at is worth or what things to look for regarding wear and abuse. Maybe someone could chime in on that subject. My machine doesnt get used nearly as much as most but I am VERY happy with it.

thats what I got. Been trying to tear it up for 4 years now. Still hummin' right alone. Granted I don't use it as much as other shops might. But I haven't had to do anything to it so far.

$600 for 100 hrs on a CE2000 is a steal. Go for it. Get the cables, knife holder, and the CD rom for the driver and manual. Don't be surprised if you have to buy a blade or two. Good machine. Howard

If anyone's interested, I've gotten my FCC commercial license (we mariners call it the GROL, or General Radio Operator's License with Radar Endorsement), which means I'm legally qualified to install and maintain shipboard radio stuff; and I'm a certified ABYC (American Boat and YACHT Council) technician, and will take my NMEA (National Marine Electronic Association) exam next month so someone can actually hire me. What all this means is that I'll be able to putter around in boats instead of plotters...and get paid for it. And you know what, I'd way rather go to a boat show than a sign show any day. Go to one..look for me, I'll be the guy in a natty yacht hat sucking a Martini. Howard

Probably a good deal, but I'm not impressed with the Graphtec FC5100-100 I bought two years ago. It doesn't track well, has been back to the factory for a bearing problem within the first 6 months, and has similar bearing problems developing now.
That surprises me...a lot. Even with the notable successes of the 2100-3100 series, the 5100's have been recognized as the best of the best. You probably should talk to someone in authority at Graphtec...Opie, maybe...I guess he's in authority. 888 318 3247
