Hi Heads, My daughter's high school bowling team (4 girls) won the sectionals last year and this year would like something special on their bowling shirts. The high school isn't going to help out so the girls bought their own polo shirts and I put together a simple graphic for the left front pocket and their names in script on the back. I don't have any embroidery connections so I thought I might be able to find the help they need here. Is there onyone who would be willing to help out with some wholesale embroidery? I'll pay any shipping and material costs if you can keep the price low for the girls...thanks in advance. Terry

The retail price of embroidery itself with a single head machine generally runs about $1/1000 stitches (less for a multihead) which means that the machine is generally capable of earning only $60 per hour, which doesn't really give the embroiderer much room to maneuver. Real profits in embroidery lie with retailing the garments and digitizing.
Digitizing costs generally retail for about $15/1000 stitches, however there are online sources (china) that will digitize for around $3/1000 stitches. You'll have to google sources but they are not hard to find.
I'd suggest getting the design digitized and then go to a local embroiderer with a ready file.
A common file format that can be read by most modern embroidery machines is .DST
I'm just getting now my head around digitizing software and am a bit buried (shorthanded) right now otherwise I'd gladly digitize the file for you.
Only the logo will need to be digitized, the embroidery software handles text for the names easily.

Just another sudggestion. Look into stock embroidery designs and use those. They should run about $5-$10 and there are plenty for bowling. Lettering is usually built into the machine, so would be easy to add. Here are two sources for stock designs. www.emblibrary.com www.embroideryonline.com
Hope this helps.

Terry Im use an embroiderer in Syracuse, NY. He has a book with 25,000 stock designs, He can add any text. He is good, fast and very reasonable. If you need a custom design, that you supply, he will digitize it for $60-100, one time fee. Drop me an e-mail if you want. I can do edge prints too.
