Gary if you have a new PC I would NOT suggest trying to install that old a version of CorelDraw "4" I think that version was for windows 3.11 if I remember correctly now it is an upgrade path so spend a couple bucks and get X3 if you are running a Windows XP or 2000.

Gary, I got your e-mail. It was a simple bitmap. File size was 5.5 MB. When I converted it to later versions of AI it ballooned to 17 MB and my mail server refused it. When I tried to save as an early version of AI a window popped up saying that it couldn't be saved without the eps part of the file.
Sorry, but something is screwy.
You mentioned 2 files but only sent one file.

I am pretty sure Corel X3 is compatible with 2000 pro but I doubt if you can make corel 4 work it is not an experement I would like to see you try. If you want send me the file to see what I can do.

Like I said Gary..there is something strange about that file..A simple black and white bitmap at about 7"x4" should not be a 5 MB file.
Edited to add..I'll just export and send it as a JPG and at least you can then vectorise it, if thats what you want to do.

Good news I found an old diskette(remember those floppys) with same file saved as AI. What was even luckier is I have a computer that has ability to use the "A" drive. Thanks for all the help

Dave it is not a simple black and white 7x4 bitmap.
It is a 300 x 300 dpi 24 bit RGB bitmap that is 2162 x 1314 pixels so yes it is that size.
Now Gary I guess you needed this in a vector format well if you need I can redraw just let me know since I see you say you found it. I will wait but to redraw this it would take a couple minutes.

I stand corrected Steve. I hadn't done a properties check on it. You are absolutely correct.
Just for the heck of it I changed the mode to greyscale and that dropped an AI file from 17 MB to 5 MB.
I guess Gary found the original vector on the 5.5" floppy because he wouldn't get either of the bitmaps onto one of them.
