 -

Seems this mural is on the ceiling of a designated smoking area in a building.

Sorry... a bit off topic?

Cool mural, but in the non-smoking section (which is the rest of the building!!!)there should be a mural of Uncle Sam looking down shaking his finger & saying in the same manor your mother did when you stole a cookie......

don't forget your helmet, don't smoke, don't drink, don't walk on your neighbors yard, don't discipline your kids, don't jokingly say bomb in an airport, don't take shampoo on a plane, no lighters also, don't leave an old car in your driveway, cut your grass, don't ask out your fellow women at work, don't build that deck, don't put that shed up, stay 100' from the lake, put a fire extinguisher in your boat, don't drive fast in no wake zones, don't drive too fast, don't drive too slow, don't tint your car windows, don't let your tires stick out too far,
DON"T speak your mind to a policeman, don't let your dog poop without cleaning it up, yuk, Don't let your poodle run free, don't let your kids out after 10, don't walk around in your underwear (one of my personal favorites [Wink] ),
You can still ... run with scissors, however... I think there is a bill in the senate at this moment pertaining to that. They think it's VERY dangerous to yourself & everyone else & want it abolished!

How about do... live & let live? I don't smoke & think these full city bans are ridiculous!
Outlaw smoking if it's so terrible.
If you don't smoke, for GODS sake, do I have to tell you not to go into a cigar bar?

How in hell is designated smoking areas hurting non-smokers?
Why the full city bans then?

Sorry, I just hate the way big brother is doing all my decision making now more than ever.

Nice mural though... very creative. Why it's in the smoking room I'll never know.

Don't say.... to shock or inform, that would be very insulting to a lot of very independent, intelligent people.

Again... cool mural, hahaha, I feel better now [Big Grin]

Mike Bendal.

The reason the GOV banned smoking is because some that do,, cannot do it such a way that does not harm others. Thats just some.

My younger son when he was just a toddler had a very serious problem of lungs and had a few very dangerous attacks at least one of which turned out to be caused caused by smoke,, in innocent places such as Mc Donalds. In fact one place in my town banned smoking after he was taken from the place in an ambulance after one of his last very bad reactions. Many suffer because of the actions of just a few inconsiderates.

I agree,Curtis. Mike, each day, it seems more like big brother is stepping further into our lives, but in some cases,it's a good thing...such as this one.

My wife has chronic bronchitis, and we can tell the instant we enter a restaurant, concert, or public building where smoking is permitted. She immediately will go into violent coughing spells, and we may have to leave. Many other people with asthma, emphazema, or other forms of breathing diseases may suffer similarly, or worse...as in the case of your son.

I smoked for twenty years, and am ever thankful to God for giving me the will to stop. It's a tough habit to break. I don't care if you smoke in your own home, your car, or outside someplace where you don't affect someone else; but please don't ask me to be a part of it.

It's almost gotten to be some form of rebellion in some cases..."you can't tell me what to do"...like those who refuse to wear seat belts or wear a helmet riding a motorcycle....even tho they know in their hearts that it's the right thing to do.

My own daughter was raving the other day about Cincinnati passing new laws banning smoking in all public places, bars and restaurants included. Then she told me she knew she needed to quit smoking.....again. But she'll have an uphill battle; her husband smokes, and her father-in-law also (even tho he has emphazema and heart disease). But I'll give her all the prayer and support I can.
