Hello, Have a client that wants their logo CNC cut (mainly lettering, 5" in height) and installed on an interior wall. I've done these before, but the client wants a stone or marble look. I've considered using engraving material, laminating it to black 6mm PVC sheet. Are there any other options? I'm trying to keep my labor low on this one.
Thanks!

Have the letters cut, chip a few edges off with a chisel to roughen it up a little and paint them the shade of color you need. Grey for slate, etc.
Thin a little darker and lighter shades of the color and dip a toothbrush into them. Hold about 6-10 inches away and snap the bristles to get a bit of texture to the letters. Don't try to control it too much...let it fly. Mix a little black to the base color in one cup, a little white into it in another cup and paint in some cracks.
Hope this helps... Rapid

since they are interior use 3/4" blue foam.
paint with a latex primer.
spray with texture/granite paint from Lowes or WalMart.
Glue to wall.
If you need a CNC give me a call

Since you're not too far from either Detroit or Toledo, there should be a waterjet cutter in the area. We've done plenty of waterjet Granite, Marble and Sandstone letters for interior signs. The labor is practically nothing: I send a file and some stone, pick it up a few days later and install.

Tim, We've used the kitchen counter material "Avonite" for applications like you've described. You can use your router because it is an acrylic product.
