I'm just setting up some graphics for my sisters interior design company.
I created a letterhead with a rule that runs down the left side and one at the bottom. I've tried exporting the graphics as a .jpeg and pasteing it into a Word file. No matter what I do it looks reeaaallly fuzzy.
I have no idea on how any of these office programs work. Is there a format I save this as so it can be placed into a word file?
Thanks!

There is a rolldown that says "insert picture" or something along those lines. I have imported jpeg's into Word documents before with great success.
Pasting doesn't work as well as the insert photo or whatever thing...

Ooops. I should've mentioned that I tried that too. It looks terrribly fuzzy even at 600dpi or so. Also tried saving and exporting the Corel file as a .doc .png .wmf .emf.
Nothing seems to work out right.

Try Exporting it as a WMF "windows meta file" if its a vector. Do the insert/clipart then save the blank letterhead as a template. There is a way that you can make it your default template so everytime you open up Word that will be your page.

Steveo, First, put on your glasses and see if it still looks fuzzy.
Then try the .WTF format... "What the f...?"
Sorry, I'm no help, it's Friday afternoon.
Actually, there is an "Export to Office" option in Corel 12. Haven't used it, but it does have a few variations: i.e., Microsoft Office, Word Perfect Office and a few other choices.

What version Word are you using I would try to use a emf first or even a copy paste straight from Draw to Word. Sometimes a paste special is needed also. If I think a bitmapped graphic is needed then a png is another choice it can have a transparency and smaller file size. Also Word is not a graphics viewer so the graphic might be fine did you try printing the page out of Word to see how it prints?

Like bruce says,, you gotta insert it.. not paste it First you make a text box...click on > insert menu / text box.. then goto your page and left click and drag out a box..
Click inside that box,, then> insert menu/picture/ and select your pic.. works great..

Did you try the "Export for Office" option? It's under File> Export for Office. I normally choose Graphics could be best suited for compatibility, and optimized for desktop printing. However, you may want to optimize for Commercial printing.

When you are in corel, press F9 to maximize the image to screen, use the print screen button to capture teh image, open word, paste picture into word, use the picture toolbar to crop the picture, and size as required. Right click on the picture, select format picture, select layout tab, select behind text. Now you can place teh picture anywhere in your document.

All you have to do is select image in corel, copy then paste in the already opened Word program...

Peter doing it the way you say would only produce a 72 dpi image if Stevos desktop resolution is set at 800x600 dpi and the image he is capturing is that large it will look ok for normal computing but it would be worthless if it needs to be printed in any High quality.

Steve is correct. In Corel - Export to Office, select "Optimized for commercial printing", this seems about the sharpest picture quality in MSWord I have found so far. Anyone else??

Thanks for the help guys! The issue she is having is that the letterhead is not printing as sharp as the typed in text. Cant do the Export to Office cuz I'm using Corel 11. Copy and Paste? Tried that and it turned out really jagged. Didn't see any difference in .wmf and .emf at all. What version of word? Newest one I guess.
I've tried every conceivable format, insert picture, insert clip art, and it doesnt look as sharp as the typed in text. Could I assume that its because it's an image?
FWIW here's what the letterhead looks like in Corel. (her design) I did print it out from Word and didnt think it looked tooo bad but there is a noticable difference in sharpness. Not sure if this can be helped or not.
Thanks a bunch!!

Word 2003 is the latest version. Then Word XP was before that and Word 2000 before that all these versions should be good.

Did you convert it to bitmap in corel? If so maybe your fuzziness comes from there. If it is a postscript file it should copy and paste and look the same as it did in corel. If it is something you are gonna use all the time export it as a wmf file. then import into word as clipart. Bill

I know this doesn't really answer you question, but couldn't she just print a whole bunch of letterheads from Corel? Then she just loads it in the printer when she types something in word?? That is what I do.

Suelynn does what I figure most people do use pre-printed business forms, letterheads, envelopes and business cards.

or you could recreate the blue lines as boxes in Word, with text boxes over them, and go from there.
